Parts would be great thanks! O and did you ever find a speedo fix? You said in that post something about a hard wire job. |
Quote:
Im sure there a hard-wire setup that could be made to avoid doing this. But I had to get Megan on the road and I havent spend more time into this. |
My first ever mold ! :happydance:
The tooling Gelcoat layer was a bit thin but it still came up relatively good I should have the first part started tomorrow. http://www.the370z.com/members/megan...e-touch-up.jpg |

Hey good to find this thread. I just moved to the Toronto area last summer. I searched for CSCS and found your write up. Amazing stuff. Are you going to compete this year? I went to an event at Toronto Motorsports Park last August just too watch with a friend. I might enter one day for fun as well once I get a little more experience but some of those cars are just insane.

- will delete the ABS function - Speedometer will work - you will be able to adjust Brake bias - You will not get Ice-mode but you might lockup your wheel depending how aggressive you are on the brake. btw you can un-assemble the ABS module and just keep the electronic part of it. |

Body Part Update !
I wasted 15$ on the first layer because of no experience with handling this kind of cloth which is a Hybrid of CF/Kevlar. then the first applied layer was not perfect since I didn't made a hole/cut relief for the 4'' hole into the mold. the second layer was a nice success !!! The part is still drying up into the mold as we speak. ;) http://www.the370z.com/members/megan...st-overlay.jpg |

but because I force myself to follow a strict budget on Megan I cant afford all the stuff needed for the vacuum bagging setup. |
Have you thought about making a functional rear diffuser now since you have the room with the exhaust you made?
|

if I have enough skill it gonna be quite crazy !!! I'm finishing with that single exit overlay then I start that project which include a surprise. I've been sick for the pass week so its not moving fast.... The car is in a non heated garage so again it doesn't make the process very fast.... :shakes head: I need a good job in the US... hehe whos hiring at minimum 75k /years ? hehe |
I two do not have a heated garage here in ct, just a covered carport. I have a template made up for a rear diffuser but it's been snowing like crazy so I can't do anything. I did some scale tests with the one I made but my biggest issue is my damn muffler, the only way it would fit is with a 12 degree angle which is too much. I thought about getting turn downs just before the rear axle but I think it might be too loud for the local tracks. My plan is to make it out of FRP then maybe a CF version after I figure out how to make a mould. That rear end is going to be bitchen when finished.

Meg, can you be so polite to post another pic of your ABS delete with the proportioning valve? Like to get an idea of location of plumbing.

Awesome mold Megan:tup:

Im not sure if you already saw this one but if you need a different camera angle, let me know. http://www.the370z.com/members/megan...n-done-yet.jpg |
Big props man. I have two track days in the next four weeks but after those I will start on this. Looks pretty simple.
Did you have to experiment with the rear bias or do you have any recommendations where to set the proportioning valve? |

I didn't had much time to go on the track is 2013 but I've drove on the ice and snow and the adjustment has been quite close to perfect. ;) When I bought the parts needed for the ABS delete, I also bought a Bias gauge setup which I haven't setup yet. |
Body update !!!
so Ive been quite lazy for the pass couple week. It still needs to be glued in place (3M double side tape) and the part itself weight in at 375 grams If I ever sell my whole single exhaust setup I will either include this one or a new one. Tomorrow I will have the installed bumper view picture ;) Stay tuned !!! http://www.the370z.com/members/megan...ingle-exit.jpg |
New pictures !!
Just a reminder, this is the first version of the Overlay. Its not perfect and I already corrected the issue on the mold. http://www.the370z.com/members/megan...st-overlay.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/megan...st-overlay.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/megan...st-overlay.jpg This is another cool Update of the next project that I started working on this morning... its cold outside so I had to rush a little bit once I got in the garage ! ( it was -15 C ) It wont be a square side corner like it currently is on the top side but more like something how it is on the lower curved plate. yes, the side wing/plate whatever we call them.. an outside side wall will be included and they wont be hanging without support. But you get the idea.... :stirthepot: Double deck diffuser project. http://www.the370z.com/members/megan...utside-15c.jpg |
want to see thet diffuser dude!!
|
Let see it

Im currently making a mold for the rear bumper skin (which is drying up as we speak). I have a long weekend coming so there will be some development ;)

With this picture you can actually see how aggressive the rear setup will be (should be.. hehe) Everything in blue will be gone for the diffuser kit ! http://www.the370z.com/members/megan...in-project.jpg |
I hope that was some old plumbing you had laying around. :bowrofl:
Seriously, I like your mould support idea. |

on another subject, I should have the epoxy applied tonight ! http://www.the370z.com/members/megan...er-project.jpg |
Thought mybe you was breathing flumes through that pipe.

nan... I prefer to be on the safe side ;) im using this stuff instead to breath the nice smell of fiberglass resin and epoxy for the CF ;) http://heritagesafety.net/wp-content...cepiece_lo.png |
You never know how much damage that stuff can do to you later on.:(
|
Body Update !
After 3 days of work on the bumper skin project, the Carbon Fiber / Kevlar part is drying up into the mold as we speak. Which should be ready to be removed tomorrow around dinner time! ;) I spend the last 2 hours applying the Epoxy.:icon14: http://www.the370z.com/members/megan...-into-mold.jpg |
How did the part turn out?
|
Quote:
Btw it weight in at 2.5 lbs. And should be about 2.2 lbs once cut to the right size needed As far as the diffuser ..... damn its BiG !!!!! |
That doesn't look like the entire bumper. What's the final piece going to be? Just a cover for portion of the bumper?
|
Nice work!
|
Preview Update on the Rear Project ! :D
I fked up when I took the measurement for the diffuser in the beginning. I mixed up the wheel spec (350z 2007+) and I forgot the 25mm spacer was installed. I had to bring the diffuser back home to un-assemble it, which is 50%/50% held by rivnuts and rivets and then cut it shorter ! Currently you see the CF/Kevlar bumper skin that is temporally in place for the picture which needs to be cut later on tonight or tomorrow to fit properly. Please don't look at how bad the bumper skin look ! I haven't spend anytime to fix it yet. It still has some imprint of the release agent/wax from the mold and ofcourse some (lot) surface air bubbles... http://www.the370z.com/members/megan...-completed.jpg |
Getting there. Looking good.
What's your plan for the licence plate area? |
Quote:
There will be 2 screw holes in the inside top portion of the middle hole for the handful of time the Z will go on the road.... Its gonna be a Cop magnet if I drive it often ! You haven't seen what is next ! hehe |
