sweet chuck, nice to see you back at the track. As for the 2-step I tried and tried to use but could never get it as good as the conventional way. Yes the rims are great looking but knock those bitches off when you go to the track. Have you weighed your original base rims? When you re tuned your car, did he take it to 8k rpm, if so how was the power delivery? I do shift mine @8k but it was still making power up there, actually peak power came in @ 7920 rpm. So, if your making power up there, rev it out since you have the gears. High redline and gears work well together :)

Yea I'm not sure if I am going to continue to use it.

Car goes back to the Dyno on Wednesday for LTH and retune. My original dyno my car made power all the way to 7750 but they wouldn't go higher he didn't tune up there yet so I shifted lower but on Wednesday he's giving me a track map and everyday map.

I'm grabbing a set of enkeis for track use ASAP. Got two rears for now and going to throw stock 350z rims on the front or buy two more of my winter wheels I had which were surprisingly light. (mb weapon I think )

The 18 basewheels are 2 lbs lighter than the rays but I sold them a while back. I regret doing that though.

I'm gonna go back as soon as I get some radials. Grabbed two enkei gtc01 18x10 , you think 285 radials or 305s? These hankooks spun all the way down the track , not worth going with them anymore haha.

Chuck get a set of mickey ET streets, for the enkei's you will be happy as this is exactly what im going to do. hankooks dont hook up at all. I feel my car made power all the way up top due to the long tubes, make sure to atleast over rev with the tune once to know if the power tapers off or completely falls off.

Jnaut. Most defiantly. Thats what I plan to do. 305 et street radial II's?

With the hankooks At 28 lbs you can hear me chirp the tires going into 4th gear lol. I found that amusing

I Had a set of et street radials and they introduced too much sway for my liking. With proper front tires they would be awesome though

I don't think he has those... I just see OEM splash guards?

i doubt it. iirc rear rotors are ~13.8" diameter.

I dropped the car back off at the shop today...hopefully the "small issues" can be fixed tomorrow and I can retune this week.

But back to topic, Chuck...car looks killer and is one fast NA!

chuckd05 05-15-2011 08:26 PM

13.0 makes me angry... im not happy until it goes 12.79

and no shine spats , im still debating if they flow with the rest OEM

chuckd05 05-15-2011 08:28 PM

jnaut. I had 15 inch 300zx wheels that were SUPER light over the base brakes, but i dont they they will fit over our rears... maybe i should be looking for 17 inch RPF 1's

I would just hate to order them and have them not fit

I think doc meant it would look sick with the rear add-ons.

I thought 17's were the smallest that would fit over the sport brakes.
