Thats exactly why I found a hand car wash w/o the tracks when I moved here.

Sucks to hear that bad news chuck. lesson learned.

98intrigue 05-31-2011 05:01 PM

That's exactly why I only hand wash my car :/

jnaut 05-31-2011 07:57 PM

chuckd05 05-31-2011 08:06 PM

me no stratchy de rim either... its going back to the guy who refinished it the first time tomorrow... I refuse to drive around looking like an idiot that smashes into curbs

and on a postive not my 305/35/18 MT street radials came... but now I need to wait 2-3 weeks for custom hub rings, which sucks because by than it will be 90+ every day in NJ...

jnaut 05-31-2011 08:13 PM

Dyno before and after my PPE long tubes and flywheel + retune....

Click the picture and go to the webshots page, than click the magnifying glass to open it up.. than click the picture to zoom in to full size..

You can see it was very rich when I brought it in ( prob why i was shooting flames since last winter ) so the top black a/f line gets int he way of the tq but you can see it went from 310 to 330 whp and 234 to 242 tq ... I asked for a / f measure on the side but for the final print out we forgot to switch it back to HP so show gains a little better but you can get the picture...

nice solid gains...

chuckd05 06-05-2011 09:24 PM

jnaut I wish a 1.6 but for some reason I am the worlds worst at doing burnouts.. I test fit them today and the brakes are so touchy to me and I constantly brake too hard causing me to do a crap burn out... i cant get these things spinning for long at all... and I dont want to keep burning my tires and clutch up , lmao... I have a few days to get it down though, lol... this poor car...

the tires and wheels fit great though and def hook 100000x better than these hankooks even with the 35psi in them today and no burnouts so Im sure they will be a huge help... but this first time out, I will only get 3-4 runs and there will prob be a learning curve but I should def get atleast a 1.8x or better.. but I will be right back either at atco or island dragway where I hear its less crowded and you get more passes asap...

not setting up excuses just want to set my standards a little low to start , lol... but I would be very mad not to see a 12.7 or better..

** I also got my rim repaired from Al's Hubcaps the following day after the mishap... so that is behind me !! **

Chuck, did you remove the stop lamp fuse? You can't do a standing burnout without doing so.

chuckd05 06-05-2011 09:47 PM

yea of coarse.. i was actualy the one who posted and confirmed that the stop lamp fuse did indeed allow you to do the burnout...

I just hit the brakes too hard and kill the burnout.. i dont really know wtf im doing wrong.. in my buddies older 5.0 i hopped right in and smoked the his whole block up.. my car is just have trouble keeping it going..

Clutch in. Revup to 5k or wherever you feel comfortable. Drop the clutch and throw your foot on the brake. I'm sure this isn't your first rodeo:rofl2:

got the burnout down, just wasnt dumping high enough...

Also yesterday had the oppurtunity to take some pics and drive a audi r8... V8 version but still a joy of a car... Would love to own one of these ... the attention it draws in my area and prob all areas is a bit much though...

Lucky bastard! That stripe would look great on my 40th

chuckd05 06-08-2011 02:28 PM

Car says 100 degrees omw to track. Ugh

tranceformer 06-08-2011 02:33 PM

Excuses excuses! Just race already! :P

On the brightside the heat should make the track sticky.
