Nice sound. What is a ball park price for an exhaust like that? How many HP do you think it will net?

Have you lowered the car? I'm in Oklahoma City and I'm new to the Z scene. I'm considering something simple like lower springs, but I dont know who I can trust to get the car aligned. Any thoughts? Will I need addiional suspension compenents to correct the camber? I don't care about agressive camber because I'm just driving around town and I want my tires to last.

Thumbs up

Saclam is simply the best sounding exhaust for the 370Z, period!

I am planning on doing my suspension next. I am pretty sure you will need a camber kit if you lower the car. It usually gives the tires a fairly aggressive camber and the basic adjustments may not be enough to set it back so you wont burn up the tires fast. I would actually check with somebody who actually knows if springs will be an issue. I just know I will need them for my suspension change. I use Fail Safe Performance here in Tulsa. I am really happy and would recommend them to you. I have seen his car and a couple of other people Z's he has done and it is very professional and the shop is really clean. We just did and oil cooler, exhaust etc... and I was there the whole time. He took his time and went above what I expected by adding rubbing protection to my intakes etc... He also looked at the GTM kit he order and he recommended we ditched the lines and we made much better lines ourselves so I have the piece of mind that they will not blow apart like some of the other accidents that have been reported on the forum. He was very considerate of my annoying tendencies to be watching and adding my input to the car. I will be posting some of the work soon. He also gave me great competitive pricing.

Failsafe Performance

I bought them slightly used ($2000)so I got a great deal on the exhaust. It is really expensive $3500 but I am loving the sound right now and it appears to help with the power to me but I may be lying to myself to make myself justify the spending. I don't really know though and we are going to dyno the car this week so I will be able to give some actual information about the exhaust and performance. I love the sound and the video clips really don't do any justice. I would actually pay full retail for these just because the way they make the car sound.

Thanks, I hope to be heading the car in a similar direction like yours soon. Just not as fast.

Sheesh! Your car SCREAMS! Sounds amazing, like an Italian exotic. A bit too loud for my tastes, as in I wouldn't put it on my DD, but for a weekend car, hell yes.

The car is quieter than stock until you step on it, then it sounds so amazing

Hey everyone,

I now have been driving the car for a week and everything is great so far. My only concern is that the oil cooler seems to be stuck wide open. I have been driving the car in 80 degree weather and it was keeping the oil temp at 190 to 210 depending on how long i was running it hard so I was really happy to see this. I think it will work great on the track on the heat. The last two days have been colder around 56 to 60 degree outside air temp according the car. The oil temp was stuck around 160 degrees and unless i let it idle for a while it would only reach 180 degrees and then once driving cool back off to 160. This sort of thing make me think it is stuck on. It also took twice as long to heat up when i was driving down the highway. The kit that it is on the car is the GTM kit and thermostatic plate is not suppose to open until 180.

"These devices are designed to be installed between the engine block and oil filter and easily allow engine oil to be circulated for remote oil cooler installations. Adapter comes with built in thermostat (180degree) which accurately controls oil flow to the cooling device allowing for quick engine warm up plus oil system protection in cold climates."

not sure if i have a bad "SANDWICH PLATE ADAPTOR WITH BUILT IN THERMOSTAT (180 DEGREE)" from GTM or if I installed incorrectly. though doesn't seem to hard to put together. The only other thing of, is that the oil temp sensor it near the oil cooler return line and i am just getting a wrong readying. I just want my oil temps to sit between 180 to 220 degress.
Has anyone had this problem before with their oil cooler? any words on how to remedy the colder oil temps? Do I need to take everythign apart and inspect it. I have a filter mag on the oil filter but I highly doubt that is having an effect.
Thanks

You said you planned on getting uprev tuned, where will you be going for that? I don't think Failsafe has their software or is a certified tuner locations of theirs, but I could be wrong. I have the same mods as you basically, intake/exhaust/test pipes and soon headers and I'm pretty sure my AF is out of whack so I'm not sure where to go to get tuned besides Texas.

We are an authorized UpRev dealer, they just haven't added us to their website yet

Yep Chris answered, Failsafe we ran the dyno for fun and when my ecu comes back we will go back and tune. If you don't have headers you won't be to out of whack although I still recommend getting it done. I was actually fairly good minus a short run where is was a little lean in the low 13's nothing bad though. failsafe is getting a dyno soon so that will be great because every mod will be tested to see what kind of gains I see, I am excited about that.
