LateralG'z 370Z Journal

I am starting My 370Z journal. My car has just reached 900 miles. I have lots of plans for the car and plan on doing it in several stages. Unsure how long each stage will take but plan on making it as fast as possible and the car as fun/fast reliable as possible because I love modifying everything. I will update this as much as possible (with pics & vid clips) and hope that it is fun. I am going to buy some parts that I think will make the car stand out for fun.

Stage 1:
Saclam Exhaust
Mines Y-pipe
Stillen G3 intake
stillen light underdrive pulley
GTM competition oil cooler
JWT oil pan spacer
Royal purple XPR oil
Uprev ECU Flash with Osiris Engine Management Tuner Tool
& Dyno Tune
Window Tint is done & fresh wax is done.

All these parts are on order I am expecting to get started in the next two weeks. Will be getting lots of great help from failsafeperformance in Tulsa, OK
Failsafe Performance

I am really excited to play with such a fun toy.

My current thoughts of the car

Handling: The car right out the box is great. It hugs the corners well and yet doesn't punish you driving around the streets of Oklahoma (crappy streets). I am definitely planning on doing some work to this aspect but I am very impressed. 7/10

Motor: I am also impressed. It pulls really strong through all the rpm's all the way to the top. It is strong enough that I can kick it out without slipping the clutch, just throttle in second at 3 g's that is a nice and torqy motor. I can even get it to break in third without the clutch. I am excited to see how much better it gets with the restriction removed and a tune. The synchro rev actually works great and is not as cheesy as i thought it would be. I love heel and toe but I am not that good and I will now really suck at it. 7/10

Interior: after car shopping around before buying my Z, I think it is much improved from its predecessors and other comparable cars. 6.5/10

and I apologize for my poor English and spelling throughout this process.

Found this sick sound clip of a Z34 with saclam exhaust. I hope mine sounds this good. I am really loving this sound. I am hoping all my first set of parts arrives by the end of the week so I can have the car done by next weekend.

As long as nothing is stuck on back order, we should be good!

looking forward to your progress!

Thanks, you have the sickest and most detailed thread. I am hoping to have my car head towards your cars set-up(full race toy) but just in longer stages. I hope I can bounce some suspension set-up with you once I change all that stuff.

Here are some pics from the install. I have a ton more but I need to crop the files down they are too large. Everything installed well with out a fight and now the car has BTP's, Stillen G3 intakes, mines Y-pipe and Saclam exhaust. Chris from Failsafeperformance did a great job and everything looks absolutely top notch. He did some nice preventative things so the intakes don't rub. Thanks Chris for a great job on the car. Saturday I am having him install a GTM competition oil cooler. Then an uprev tune to make everything run even better. The next thing that will be order in Tein suspension and camber kits for the car. I will take some sound clips tomorrow and post them.

It sounds really mean and like no other Z so I am happy at this moment but won't be totally happy till I take the car for Rip and see. Can't really describe the sound but I really like what I have heard just quickly as we put the car together. Will crop or re-size and post more photos tomorrow.

Okay so I now have everything installed and the exhaust is absolutely amazing sounding. I will post a clip soon by the way. My window pop down and up when you open & close the doors is now staying down. It pops down but when I closed the door it won't pop up? I am totally baffled why. Has any experienced this when you changed the headers, exhaust intakes etc...? I don't know if I just need to pull the battery connection for a while or what? Please give some guidance to remedy this little annoying issue. Thanks

Seems to be a common problem that takes 20 seconds to fix. You have to reset the window motor. Do this by holding the switch to the down position for 10 seconds, then in the up position for 10 seconds. Looking forward to those clips of the exhaust, the one you posted sounds sick!
