Do you still have the stock carbs? If so, they can be tweaked to run extremely well if you have the older carbs. The new Datsun carbs sucked. That is what I had on my 1974 1/2 260z. I would suggest to stick with the stock L24 engine and build it properly while using the stock carbs. Guy in Atlanta could make those things run awesome.
