Just get it done on a weekend..

m4a1mustang 03-17-2013 03:09 PM

Still not practical with the work I have to do to uninstall and reinstall. Doubt the work could all be done in two days with me having to run to MD to drop off and pick up.

eastwest2300 03-17-2013 03:25 PM

Ahh tough choices there bro, have the girlfriend help you out if she can.

m4a1mustang 03-17-2013 03:43 PM

Lol I don't think that would help matters in any way. From a logistics perspective I would need, at minimum, three days.

eastwest2300 03-17-2013 03:44 PM

You could always rent a car for the time your car's in the shop.

It's just a matter of age. A seal goes bad... Moisture gets introduced and there ya go.

In that case it is cheaper for me just to buy a new headlight.

Okay, so Capitol Raceway was jam packed with cars and people! Tons of cars of all styles, makes, models. Hardly any 370Zs with the exception of mine that I saw. Shelton had his 350Z there but he wasn't able to get in for about an hour and half after I got there, it was that crowded. Then it got rediculously cold. No trophies this time but I met some new folks. Three guys behind me in the Genesis coupes were from PA. One was turbo-charged. He took first in his category. Oddly, I didn't recognize the guy who took the Nissan category (probably a GTR as there were several there). They were drag racing as well so it was quite a busy day there. Good to be home where its warm though now. here are a few photos from today. I was lazy and didn't wander through the sea of cars today because it was just too damn cold!

This was Lee's Corvette that was parked behind me. Supercharged and ready for business, this thing was one loud car!

Lee had his vette running and was attracting a crowd, the girls went over and warmed up from the heat from the engine. LOL

eastwest2300 03-17-2013 06:34 PM

That Vette is sick, dont really like the hood though, wayyyy too many vents. Just my opinion though.

dmhenderson 03-17-2013 06:44 PM

Sorry I didn't make it :/

My thoughts exactly... on HRE wheels on a Porsche?

Wow dude, way to ruin your car by going cheap in 2 ways at once. :ugh2:

LMAO some of you may be surprised by this...

But stretched tires are run by plenty of race teams. Its a proven fact that it strengthens tire sidewalls and improves grip dramatically.

Keep in mind there is a very fine line between proper stretch and over stretching. But that GT3 IS doing it right.

Not sure if srs...

But assuming you are, show me. Also, it isn't doing it right with Nankang's, that is for sure.

Too much for my tastes. I like the wheels, the brakes and the vented bumper. The two-tone hood and the giant erector set wing don't do much for me (I'm sure both are functional). I'd find something else to do with a GT3 but then again, I wouldn't be looking to track it.

Yeah, that is a serious track-able street car.

Also, I THINK that wing is a stock GT2/turbo wing?

You need to work on your google-fu sir. Its all around. Really big on the Miata forums and those guys are track nuts. I am 100% serious.

Also like I said. The car belongs to a very well known shop. Pretty sure they have a bit more experience than any of on here...

No, I don't think so. I've seen the GT wing and it's big and silly looking but blends with the car better than that.

Interesting, because the only thing I find returns on for "proper tire stretch" is Volkswagon, Toyota, and StanceWorks results. Considering the scene that follows stupid tire stretch, this is exactly as I expected.

You supply your sources, I'll buy it. Until then, stretched tires are the dumbest idea ever, best left to people who want to look herrafrush. Also, Nankang tires still blow, and I'd put MONEY that if you asked them, they would admit that those tires are just for show. Being from a shop means absolutely nothing to me, especially if they built it purely to flex their horsepower pen1s and do smokey burnouts...that ought to be particularly easy on some crappy stretched Nankangs :)

MyKindaGuise 03-17-2013 10:33 PM

These guys built it..

Ill agree with you on the brand of tires being horrible but the rest is honest. I guess ill just have to prove more points when I run square 275's stretched.
