I don't see how those 2 are related, but I will if I have time. Be sure to keep track of the weather for that day.

Got the car back today instead of Mon but I won't be there tomorrow because A) Fairfax and B) rain. I will definitely be at Columbia next week. Doesn't look like I'm going to get to pull the coolant tank tomorrow unless anyone can tell me how plastidip reacts to moisture in the air. I'll probably just wait.

Dude you have the G and the Z, it'd be a hard choice every day as to which to drive.

I would think that on any day that was nice and he was looking for fun, the Z

Any day where the weather is whacked or he just wants to relax, the G.

That's what I'd do, anyway

Quick question for people who know more about this than me:
-Will I need new wheels to accomodate this kit? Tires are a given but I think I'll go ahead and melt my yokohamas first.
-I already have a LSD (nismo lol ok) but am I going to need to seriously consider upgrading clutch/flywheel etc?
-I would assume I won't need an oil cooler running forced induction...or will I?

Any tips (HEY CODY PLEASE READ) or things I should know before I seriously consider taking the plunge would be helpful.

-Don't think you will need new wheels, but definitely some stickier tires. FI'd Z's have a lot of issues with traction.
-Depending on how much HP/TQ you get from the kit, upgrading the clutch/flywheel would be a really good idea. Might be too much HP/TQ for the stock ones to handle.
-You'll need a lot more than just oil coolers, but the kit might come with them. You'll have to ask Tony about that.

Not to sound like a d!ck or ***, but if you're asking these kind of questions before making such a huge commitment, you might want to do some research on your own first

1) we all know how much it cost to go TT, it ain't cheap, you're about to drop a WHOLE lot of money
2) you are now putting a lot more strain on your motor, will it blow? Probably not, but can you expect to rebuild your whole money? Yes, and this will not be cheap either
3) same goes with your transmission

My advice would be to kind of read around first, get a really good understanding for yourself, and get real world experience from other members who have gone through the process and what they have to say, feedback wise.

edit:

I would guide all questions to FI, they should be able to answer any questions you have

dmhenderson 03-16-2013 01:33 PM

@Khoi I'm doing all of that but starting with you guys since you know more about this stuff than I do (edit: fixed bizarre iphone sentence)

I had a long talk with tony and I think I understand how this would need to happen now and there are several huge issues I need to figure out before taking the plunge (not the least of which is that my motor is still under warranty for 2 years).

Sorry if I gave the impression that I was just going to go "lol didn't want that ~$10k anyway". That's definitely not the case. I'm just starting my "homework".

Good to see those who could make it out today to the Fairfax meet today! Nice to meet up with Mark (Z-Stig), Jay, Ron, Randy and his daughter, Chris and his new Veloster Turbo!, Tony (who we have not seen in a while). Also, Dee dropped in with his Z which was looking very nice! Todai was awesome as usual! Here are a few pics from today. I apologize in advance for the lack of a photo of Chris' Veloster. For some reason I managed to lose it on the camera. I'll get a nice pic next time Chris!

Proof that Dee actually came to the meet, standing next to Randy and his daughter. I had other photos of the rest but those also were lost to the ether, oh well!

I manged to salvage one photo of Dee's Z with his well done headlight mod!

Ron's always clean 370Z
