I said "oh ok that's nice". Then he asked me if I wanted to buy it (???). I said "no sorry, not looking for a car right now". Then he asked me if anyone else I knew wanted one and I said "no I don't think so".

His next words were (verbatim) "My girlfriend is making me sell it because she doesn't like sportscars. I mean, I haven't done anything to the motor but I have those wheels on it and lambo doors"

Mind you, the guy had to be in his 60s. I just shrugged but I'm thinking maybe it's not the car she's objecting to.

LOLOL

He just asked you straight up if you wanted to buy it LOL. Yeah I love it when people with gawdy mods ask how you like their car. I just try to be polite and say the same thing you do.

Yea it goes great with your 100 shot of NOS for race wars. Just don't go racing any S2K's with 100 grand under the hood. :|

The guy was clearly proud of it and really wasn't paying attention to what I was saying anyway so it wasn't hard.

In other news, if I bring my new breather hoses to the Columbia meet on Sat, can someone help me pop off those sound baffles real quick and put the new hoses on?

How many Mazocians does it take to install a hose?

10 to make gay jokes about hoses
1 to change the hose

I'm sure we can help

I told the story to my gf when I got home and her comment was, "Well, I'm sure not everyone thinks lambo doors are stupid" to which I replied "If it's not an actual lamborghini, you'd be safe in assuming that people are laughing at you more often than not".

May have family coming over from NY this weekend. If this is the case, then I won't be able to come to the meat :(

m4a1mustang 03-21-2013 09:09 AM

I am currently planning on attending but may have someone coming to buy my Recaros from the 5.0.

eastwest2300 03-21-2013 10:14 AM

Chris and I will be working on cars during the meet.. should be fun. Nismo will unfortunately not be there..

MyKindaGuise 03-21-2013 11:40 AM

Never ending quest for brake ducts has taken me here:

Congratulations for selecting a Nissan product for your involvement in Motorsports. The packet attached contains all the information you need to help you register for our support program. The program is two parts as it allows you to purchase genuine Nissan and motorsports parts at a discounted price and earn contingency money to reward your successful racing endeavors.

Please keep in mind that this program rewards your loyalty, but does have a few very specific requirements. Vehicle signage is a requirement and has very specific colors and placement details. The actual claim also requires a clear copy of the event results, vehicle photos and I would also encourage Driver photos. We have many needs for action pictures and we would enjoy helping you become famous for your accomplishments.

"Signage is a requirement" o_O

m4a1mustang 03-21-2013 01:09 PM

Yeah I think you should just drop it and wait for someone to make replicas... or just have a shop make some for you.

Sales@AAMComp 03-21-2013 01:13 PM

DM what exactly are you looking for?

dmhenderson 03-21-2013 01:16 PM

Nismo RC front brake duct assemblies including the vents.

m4a1mustang 03-21-2013 01:20 PM

I don't think you'll ever be able to buy that retail.

Oh... you could always do the pit area, so where it looks like the "mouth" of the car is black. That'd look hott.

If I have enough left over I will remove my plasti dip and wrap it. That was the plan atleast :tiphat:

It's a quest. I'm convinced I will be able to get them somehow but I'll ahve to get lucky. And Cody, I'm looking for functionality as well as the "look". I haven't seen the whole kit but they're supposed to cool your front brakes.

Do you get your brakes hot enough to need to cool them? I.E... do you track?

The engineer is up for the task, now if we can get the bossman involved and give the approval (ie fund the project) then I'll give you details as to what all is involved. Just chatted with the engineer for about 20 minutes about this.

Easier route: have the Nismo RC piece to replicate, or base the drawings off of

However he said drawing/designing from scratch is doable too!

Sales@AAMComp 03-21-2013 02:46 PM

In general I'd love to see AAM get more involved with other aspects of the car other than exhaust/performance parts. I know our engineer is capable of designing and producing other related parts

dmhenderson 03-21-2013 02:46 PM

Neat. Thanks!

upgraded pads, ss lines, and better brake fluid, great bang for the buck brake upgrades or a good place to start

m4a1mustang 03-21-2013 02:53 PM

Indeed. AutoX pads you want something that works well cold.
