:bowrofl::bowrofl: That's what I'm doing but it won't be done in time for a karting meat. Plus, it's not just me that would benefit from you small ***** having ballast. :stirthepot::bowrofl::bowrofl:

When I Karted with the guys from ZCAR I remember Chris (Draco) beating us all even though he was one of the bigger guys out there on the track. Not all the karts seemed to be equal. Everything was timed though and you get the times for each after each session of which I believe we had three or four. It was fall and at night so it was cold, more so for the people watching though.

m4a1mustang 03-15-2013 02:50 PM

Yeah ballast or not I will still do it. Would be fun regardless.

hey i did a karting event with the pittsburgh cars and coffee group. it was 1 practice run, 2 times qualifier runs, and a 2-man enduro 30 min race with required driver changes. each driver had to drive 3 times. it was awesome time and the rental karts were legit plus all the equipment (jacket, helmet, neck brace, gloves, etc.) came with it. think we had 20 people and it was only $60 a person. lasted about 2 1/2 hours maybe 3.

ZCarMan 03-15-2013 03:04 PM

How does Saturday April 13th sound? I'm looking at their Karting schedule and that is a day that has open slots.

Nope. I just feel like it'd be more competitive if everyone had the same race weight.

when i did that one they split the field in half by qualifying times then paired up drivers best with worst then down the line almost like a bracket set-up for the enduro partners.

Fine with me. I think that's the week before Randy's cruise.

eastwest2300 03-15-2013 03:07 PM

I'd be down to watch you guys...

m4a1mustang 03-15-2013 03:09 PM

I should be good for the 13th. I'll check with Dana to see if she wants to run.

m4a1mustang 03-15-2013 03:10 PM

Does the $100/pp include helmet rental?

ZCarMan 03-15-2013 03:11 PM

Okay, I have the guy from Summit calling me back in about ten minutes, so I'm going to get all the information and see what we can do to reserve the 13th. We'll need a minimum of 8 people which I think we can do. If we get more, the price per person comes down. I'm going to see what it will take to reserve the 13th and I'll post up more in a bit.

I''ll ask that question.

FPenvy 03-15-2013 03:15 PM

too bad i'm the lone guy up here since the place we went to has a full on karting only track with multiple set-ups

Pittsburgh International Race Complex

m4a1mustang 03-15-2013 03:21 PM

Ok, Dana will race.

Absolutely! That place is pretty swank. I'm abysmal at bowling but it's still a fun social event.

Probably not enough to make up for my lack of skill.

ZCarMan 03-15-2013 03:38 PM

Okay, I just got off the phone with Summit Point. It looks like the 13th won't work as there is an enduro race scheduled and I didn't realize that is 8 hours. So I'm looking at Saturday, April the 6th or Saturday the 27th. I was told that if we were to do it on a weekday we could get just about anytime. However, I realize work schedules and such that it might not be possible. So, what do you guys think about the 6th or the 27th? The 27th might give folks more time to prepare but I'm open either way. Lets hear your thoughts. Oh yeah, the price includes helmets. If you bring your own it has to meet their safety guy's once over. If not, you just get one of theirs.

m4a1mustang 03-15-2013 03:47 PM

I'm OK with either of those dates. We can cruise over there from FFX.

ZCarMan 03-15-2013 04:09 PM

If we did the 6th or the 27th, we could set it up for 3PM and then go somewhere in Winchester to have dinner for those who wanted to. Just me thinking out loud so its all good once we know what others are good for.

It will cost you the same in gas to watch as it will to drive :stirthepot:

I vote for a later date, the 27th sounds more reasonable to me. The further out the easier it will be for people to plan for it and possibly attend. I went with a bunch of guys from Agile Auto last time and they're always interested so I could reach out to them as well if wanted.

4r3s 03-15-2013 04:13 PM

I'm also down for the bowling thing Steve has been mentioning

Sales@AAMComp 03-15-2013 04:21 PM

Good for either date :D and am always down for bowling!

Columbia brunswick, $1.50/games on wednesday after 9pm hehe

RandyD 03-15-2013 04:25 PM

i'd love to do that Jon - either date. (so long as you come cuizing on the 20th... :) )

I'm in for the cruise so put me down. :)

ZCarMan 03-15-2013 04:46 PM

Upate: Looks like the 27th at 3PM is a no go as there is another group in there at 2:30PM. So to do it on the 6th or the 27th we'd need to do this at noon. Alternatively, the 4th of May (Saturday) appears to have open slots.

m4a1mustang 03-15-2013 05:06 PM

I'm fine with noon. Can't do may 4. Thats AAM open house.

ZCarMan 03-15-2013 05:18 PM

Alright, I've got a call back to our POC at Summit Point Karting to request the 27th of April at 12:00PM. I'll put up a separate thread once I have a confirmation. Then we can begin to get others to commit so we can assure at least 8 people. There is no max number so the more we get, the better our price will be per person.

m4a1mustang 03-15-2013 05:30 PM

Sounds good. Thanks Jon!

ZCarMan 03-15-2013 05:54 PM

Okay, its settled! We have reservations for the Official "MAZOC Karting Challenge" a Grand Prix 4 karting event at Summit Point on Saturday, 27 April, 2013 from 12:00PM to 2:30PM. Now Look for the thread that I just created and let me know who is no sh1t going to attend. Cost will be $100 per until we reach 16, then it drops to $90.00.
