Glad you're ok.

Any leftovers you'd want to part with or has everything been absorbed by the new car?

Yup, very good you are OK.

Have fun with off road and race car

Glad you're ok, and it sounds like it's worked out pretty well for you in the end, however unpleasant it was in the moment.

Everyone have a great weekend I will be in Ocean City this weekend if anyone happens to be that way. Not looking forward to that traffic though.

jpkirk 09-12-2014 11:23 AM

Keyser, WV for me. Nephews baby dedication on Sunday.

Kind of just happened that way. Already here and traffic wasn't a problem at all. I was thinking of going back next weekend for h20i but I don't know much about it. This my first time in OC since I was 15. Is h20i a good experience?

I dont even know what h20i is...

dmhenderson 09-12-2014 08:56 PM

h20 is a huge import (european import?) meet in Ocean City. It used to be fun but like many large car meets, a couple dumbasses ruined it for everyone by doing stuff like drag racing down coastal highway.

The thing is, the cops there have been cracking down and impounding cars for dumb **** the last couple years. Improper exhausts? Illegal camber? Yeah they'll tow and impound your car and look for a reason to arrest you as well.

Not worth the headache.

370 ZZZ 09-13-2014 12:05 PM

Assuming no meet this morning I cleaned the car and got it in the garage before the rain came. Funny, since I got my Z, if it's clean and in the garage and it is raining, I would much rather stay home than go out driving my wife's Prius. Owning the 370Z sure adds a whole new dimension to driving. I'm glad to be one of you.

I think it was mostly European now it's all makes.

Definitely looks like it's not worth the trouble I break almost all these.

Also bear in mind that most of the time, they IMPOUND and tow your car meaning you're going to pay a shitton of money to get it back. Then they will find some BS reason to arrest you and issue you a criminal ticket. Oh and when your trial date comes up, you have to be present in Ocean City for it or they will issue a motherf'ing bench warrant for you*

*Source: My old roommate was hauled out of our townhouse in his boxers for an unanswered noise complaint from OC while we lived in Montgomery Village.

Long story short: It's a money grab for Ocean City. Don't participate.

Lower than factory suspension are u fking serious??

dmhenderson 09-13-2014 07:25 PM

In other news I will be in Columbia next week for sure (rain or shine) because I'm going to get my emissions tested afterward.

Anyone who wants to tag along, it should be super hilarious. I should fail horribly. If I don't well, we learn something.

I've also heard they'll write tickets even if you're not breaking a law and then it's up to you to prove you weren't (you never win).

Ex: Nismo body kit is low to begin with, they write you a ticket for low suspension. Judge will ignore anything you say.

Are you throwing a code? If not, you won't fail.

Correct me if im wrong as when it comes to cars you are definitely smarter than me when it comes to vehicles.

That isnt always true though, when he was tuned, the tuner most likely turned off the P0420 code that tells you your cat isnt working IF Mark has a test pipe or HFC. (Thats what they did with my evo). So when he goes to get emissions, itll read as "not ready" and theyll just fail him. I dunno, maybe MD is different than VA, but I just registered my Evo at my parents house in a county that doesnt have emissions. Problem solved.

If hes on stock cats though, should be fine most likely.

dmhenderson 09-15-2014 07:20 AM

I have test pipes on the car but I still have the stock cats in case it fails.
I've heard of people passing with test pipes but I don't know what the criteria are.

That is possible. However, I believe MD's test is really just a cursory "is the light on?" test. However, you have a point and you could be correct.

Cristobal09 09-15-2014 07:26 AM

The Z doesnt put out near the emissions an evo does, but your car, not sure about that lol. Focus ST's can pass with test pipes a lot of the times. Ill fail even with an HFC.

jlw2546 09-15-2014 08:01 AM

I made it through emissions in my rx8 with a resonated test pipe and it was throwing a code. I did a battery disconnect just before entering the station and they hooked it up during the reset period when the cel was not on. It passed. Light came back on while driving home but i was good for another 2 years. And that car smelled like crap at idle. I took my passing emissions sheet and ran.

I too was worried when I went for my emissions test last month. I've got non res TP and no CEL (tuned by AAM), but the idle smell is pure race car. Passed no problem.
