I really wanted to make it out since it's been way too long but surprise MD Ren Fest plans game up... Next weekend is a farm party off the Wicomoco... Hopefully soon... As long as Steve won't be there, he smells... ;)

You'll have to find a new location first. All car meets were banned from the previous location.

WELL ZED 11-20-2016 10:42 PM

So after doing some research for a couple days, I found a good spot in Centreville/Fairfax area for all that are interested in reviving the VA meets. There is a large lot on Trinity Parkway near the intersection of Route 28 and Route 29. There is a velocity five, chasin' tails, and carrabba's in the parking lot and I always see car meets there. Its big enough that it wouldn't be hard to set up or be a problem for the businesses (because they get a lot more traffic from bigger car meets). The direct address is 5825 Trinity Pkwy, Centreville. I know that this is probably far for most but I thought I would start by suggesting something and seeing where it goes. I guess we can move forward based on some feedback from others.

m4a1mustang 11-20-2016 10:55 PM

Is there coffee within walking distance or would we have to get it before coming over? I know there's a Starbucks in the shopping center off 50 near 28 (with the Target) but I never checked with ownership if we could have a small group gather there. These days we might pull 6-12 cars for a morning meet in VA.

WELL ZED 11-21-2016 03:03 PM

There is a starbucks in the shopping center across the street and an awesome mom and pop bakery/cafe half a mile away. If this doesnt work, or is too far, I found another shopping center in fairfax farther down 29. Theres a peets in that shopping center and the direct address is 3985 Pickett Rd, Fairfax. Any thoughts?

Cristobal09 01-04-2017 08:48 AM

ah, been about six months since I was last here and still no VA location. Looks like nothing has changed. :)

Just make your driveway the VA location. There's a different set of cars there about as often as we have MAZOC meets :bowrofl:

Hey, i’ve tried to go to Z meets around NOVA but I feel like they’re always a bust :/ however if you guys agree I feel like Katie’s Cars & Coffee on Saturday’s in Great Falls is a good rain or shine morning meet usually lasts from 6-10am(dies out by 11) there’s also the Dunkin Donuts meet in South Riding Across from the Walmart parking lot another morning meet Sunday’s (7-10 I believe) big parking lots smaller turnout, and last but not least there’s a Chick Fil A meet Friday nights 6pm-??pm (varies) in Sterling this is the only meet where there’s usually more Z’s than just me. Just some good meets that are usually rain or shine meets that we could piggy back off... just my 2˘ :)

So what're ppl doing next saturday? :ughdance:

Sscottfitz 06-22-2020 02:55 PM

Probably Fishing & Walking Dogs.....

...since retiring back to Arkansas (last Spring), just determining what day Saturday actually is has its own challenges, but we typically either do nothing, fish, grill - especially this time of year as here it is quite hot & humid...........how are you doing these days......?

Congrats on retirement, hope "our kansas" ;) is treating you well.

I'm doing ok. Went from a Z to a Z06 to obsessing over this thing

Retirement is Good....

Thanks for the note back and great to hear from you. We still have the Z, but quite honestly, she mostly sits in the garage stall #3 with the battery charger not far away......probably should sell her to someone who would actually use her more than I do....... I'm torn between a really nice corvette and a really big pontoon boat.........<grin> Drinking on a Pontoon Boat seems to be an accepted activity, where even Arkansas still frowns on drinking and driving on the roads......<grin>.....

I loved my vette when I had it, but I enjoyed Z ownership more. Now, drinking on a boat... that's some fun!

It is definitely a Dr Jeckle/Mr Hyde. Well behaved until you twist its tail, next thing you know you are doing 140 down 70... I mean 65mph. I would never exceed the speed limit...

And then I keep up with my peeps on their 600s in the twisters with ease....

m4a1mustang 07-07-2020 09:45 AM

Wish I kept up with riding. Love my '07 R1200R but can never really take it out... if you know anyone that's looking for one, let me know!
