Default What's the Worst Feeling in the World

I'm currently waiting to hear back on a more senior opportunity in the city that would effectively increase my salary by 20%. Been in good communication with the lady who is leading the process but she was supposed to email me late Friday / early today about setting up a follow-up interview...still no word.

Employers should just give you the courtesy of saying they're not interested instead of leaving you hanging. Reality is, they saw something in you if they decided to even have one interview or screening so why not be nice and say thanks but at this time we feel that you don't have experience....

Yeah that sucks. I would call as it shows ambition which most employers like to see. Just dont over do it.

Worst Feeling, walking out to where you parked your car to find it missing. Well maybe not the absolute worst, but this is a car forum afterall.

I've been on 3 deployments, lost some friends and mentors, had rocky relationships, but a feeling I still can't even begin to understand was when my ex, commited suicide. My sympathy doesn't just lie with the demons she was dealing with and how alone she must have felt, but with her parents, step sister, friends, and all those that cared, because it was a lot more than she probably thought

Oh man! that's hard. Mine was a bit selfish as compared to what you described. Hope you are keeping your head up through all of that!

Have you personally felt this? Oh man, I wouldn't even know where to begin if my car went missing. I guess if mine went missing forever, I could use the opportunity to get a nismo...

hmmm, anyone wanna do me a favor

No not to that scale. My parents played a trick on me once and moved my ATV when I was a kid. I left it parked where it could have easily been stolen. Not a good feeling.

I would rather have not known about not getting a recent promotion, than how it actually went down. I work for a pseudo-govt. organization and hiring is "by the book," because they don't want to get sued. So despite the fact that this position was the next level for me, ie, I to II, and I have been doing the work that this person was hired for, for the last six months, I got passed over because this person had "more experience" because of a previous job, that he worked at almost six years ago. Within the organization, our careers had matched until I got a promoted to my current position earlier in the year. So he is effectively leap-frogging me. Apparently, the selection panel is only allowed to take the interview and resume into consideration, not any other factors, so when his numbers beat mine, that was that. In a corporate environment, I would have been a shoe-in. I could have jumped off the roof that afternoon. I guess the good news is that I only wanted that job for the title and pay, I didn't actually want to do the work. So me staying where I am keeps me on my current team and I get to pass on some headaches soon and get back to focusing on what I enjoy.

As for bad feelings, finding out your significant other is cheating on you is a pretty rotten feeling.

I commend you for being so positive despite the situation. I will say my hesitation with Gov't jobs lies exactly with what you just shared.

And oh man, if my GF cheated on me, I'd be like wtffffbbq

July 11th last year, my apprentice and I were doing a service call on a rooftop unit at a nearby goodlife gym. I sent him down to set up the thermostat. After not hearing from him for a few minutes, I made my way to the ladder. It took a few moments for me to realize what I saw. My 21-yr old apprentice laying at the bottom of the ladder in a pool of blood. Back broken in 3 places, skull cracked open from front to back like a Mohawk. Paramedics say I saved his life. After a week in a coma and 6 months of long and slow recovery, he is now back to 90%. I still have near daily nightmares.

yah, ive had similar instances like that while i was younger. for me it was like if they wanted you, they will give you a call the next day (or sooner). if they dont want you then they dont reply for a while. some companies didnt reply for weeks.

i hope they want you though, just noting my experience in the past. it was not a good feeling, i know that.

Being 15 and turning the television on after 22 hours of non stop traffic on August 30th, 2005. I remember the news reporter going St.Bernard Parish no longer exist, Katrina has destroyed it completely. Looked down at my suit case, 2 days of clothes. FML.

The worst feeling in the world is when somebody you love passes away and the feelings you have afterwards when you know you'll never be able to talk to or see them again.
