I'm not a LEO, but I would expect that any traffic sign that requires a stop (regulatory sign) needs to have some sort of red color in it.

Yellow (warning) signs should just be cautionary, i.e. not requiring any specific action. However, if you see someone approaching or perhaps crossing the road, you of course need to stop. The sign is supposed to just draw your attention to the crossing area so you can be more cautious. I believe you are expected to drive slowly in a way that you can be prepared to stop should you need to.

Signs don't typically have double meaning unless explained clearly on the sign, such as "When flashing," or time of day.

Dont wast your money on a lawyer they wont beable to do much with a ticket but take your money, (at lest here in TN thats the way it is) and I would go to court and tel the Judge what happend more then likely he will have you go to driving school or he might throw it out.

My question: If I get stopped for my FI Exhaust.. what would be my best bet to not get a ticket?

Assume Guilt? Say that it's not that loud?? LOL
What are the law's where you are at? here the only reason you will get a ticket here is if you have "NO" exhaust. and besides FI exhaust is not really loud at all. If there is a cop profileing I would file a complaint with his department.

The reason I ask is because a while back I was driving in the community my mom lives in on a weekend. A cop pulled me over for what was written as a "rolling stop through a stop sign". So I asked the cop which stop sign it was and he told me the one on the corner of Menta Street which is where the child crossing sign is. I didnt argue but was kind of confused as to him saying it was a stop sign. I thought of it as a yield sign which is why i came to a slow creep of about 5mph and made the right turn instead of a complete stop. it was a $140 ticket with no points and no course needed. I ended up taking pics of the sign later that day because I really wanted to show up to court to fight it but didnt want to face extra court fees if for some reason it was truly considered a stop sign.
No sir, that yellow sign is a "yeld" sign not a stop sign lets say there was a person waiting to cross the road there you should yeld so they can cross the road safely. I would go to court and ask why this ticket was issued and bring your pics of the sign.

Cops do not have any quotas, there is a federal law stating that. Now what do you mean? some cops are I guess you can say trigger happy and love to stop cars and take as many people to jail as possible, those are mainly the rookies. Me on the other hand you pretty much gotta beg me for a ticket, I might stop you for something but mainly like 95% of the time I give warnings.

One ticket I do give most of the time is Financial Responsibility (insurance) ticket. I cannot stand people that dont have insurance and still decide to drive.

It's a UNC Charlotte police officer. But it still goes through the mecklenburg county court so why shouldn't I worry about it? Not being a smart *** just trying to get educated.

Also, OP. Usually here if the lawyer knows the DA you can meet with them before hand and just get the ticket thrown out completely so I think ima go with a lawyer anyway. Let me know guys I'm going to talk to one I know on Monday thanks

Then they're real cops. If you go in front of a real judge, they're real cops. Some campuses I've been on had their own police force and the worst thing that could happen if you didn't pay a ticket was they would withhold your transcript until you paid, and you could argue them down on the fine by playing the "poor college student" card. Your insurance would never be informed of the ticket either way, and they couldn't issue a warrant for your arrest.

anyone with the power to pull you over would be considered law enforcement. even if it is a "campus cop" they still have to go through the same POST (Peace Officers Standard of Training) certification that other law enforcement is required to go through. Some states have a different acronym but it's all the same.

Campus cops here in Chicago are all state certified police officers. Just that when they arrest someone, they just hand them over to Chicago POlice.

It depends on were you are at, here they have as much power as the Sheriff's Office.

There Is no other way. They pulled you over for the right reason. Any other findings from that point on is with in their scope of authority I'd they have suspicion that grew after the fact. Your screwed. Beg for mercy. Well, it works that way in texas.

Why do you guys hide and or run radar at the bottom of a hill or right at that new construction zone? I was a LEO in the Air Force for 5 years and was taught ethics and discretion and when I see a civilian cop do the hiding I just shake my head with disrespect. Entrapment tactics.
I was pulled over by DPS some time ago for speeding and he asked me if he could search my car. I asked him what the PC was and he paused. I told him no and he didnt have enough PC to justify the search and advised him to write me a citation, warn me, and let me be on my way. He wrote me a warning and let me go.
Be careful out there boys and girls. Be respectful but also know what the police officer can do legally when you are stopped.

I always insist on a cavity search when I get pulled over; word gets around quick and they quit pulling you over fairly rapidly (especially if you have a corn-rich diet).

I'm surprised a DPS was caught out of line like that. Maybe you got lucky and found one that was stupid. Most are squared away and would not pull you over until they found a reason regardless weather it was their main focus for the stop or not. I'm sure you ran I to an idiot there.

99.9% of the time I run my roving radar never sit still, And I think its the new ones that pull that BS of sitting at the bottom of a hill. And I always search cars on PC and most of the time reasonable suspicion. And hell ya you ran into an idiot.....
