Yeah my days of sharing a screen are over. If it ever becomes a problem we are set up to add two more TV's/Systems as well. I doubt that will ever happen though just dont have enough gamer friends that would stay up all night playing with me Lol

i saw a video on youtube (that summarizes xbox one).

Pretty much about the game disc being installed into your own xbox one hard drive,
but then the disc no longer has a purpose afterwards. Then they stated "well what if your friends have an xbox one and just use YOUR* disc and install it into their own xbox one hard drive and pay that small fee".

They will lose money like that, wont they?

Yes and no.
This will eliminate the buy a disc for X amount and then share with 10 friends with the developers only getting the original X price. Now they can make X plus a small fee per registration.

Do people rent games anymore? Definitely much of my childhood allowance went to rentals, but since college I'm afraid I know nothing of the practice.

All of the games or discs will have a license, once it is used, it can't be used again unless it is DRM free. I doubt very many games will be without DRM of some kind though. You can give away the license up to one time though to a friend or family member. At that point you would no longer be able to play the game. Unless you are in the group of friend's that have access to their cloud. That defeats the purpose of giving away the game anyway because if they are already in that group they can just play it off of your cloud. You cannot play the same game together on different systems though, just like now you would need two discs or two licenses.

People are getting too worried over this DRM nonsense and Kinect spying on you. It's mostly due to bad media, and horrible Microsoft Public Relations. The answers are out there but people are too lazy to find them and just go by what they hear.

I also found out that up to 9 people on one system can have Gold access with just one subscription to Gold. This is great for families with more than one child, they no longer need more than one Gold account unless each kid has their own system.

I got a little long winded on that response I hope I answered your question.

Gamefly is pretty successful, or was, that is the only company I see suffering from this at least with Xbox One. In my area there are no more storefronts for movies or game rentals, just those shiny red boxes.

Thanks for the info.
I don't even share my games, i mostly just buy the games that i enjoy the story mode and online game play (COD, Halo, Fifa, BF). Those are the games i keep... the other games that mainly just story base mode i buy them used and resale. I guess those types i'll switch it over and get them for PS4.

Just remember at Developers discretion they can enforce DRM on the PS4 games as well. I do not see it being much different than the Xbox One. If they do it for one system they are going to do it for both.

So I can buy a game, I can give my brother my gaming cloud username/password and he can play it too? (Albeit only at different times) Sort of like Steam on the PC? If so, that's pretty neat.

You will have up to 10 friends ( I believe ) that you designate with a special tag of some sort. They have access to your games in the cloud. Will it be a trial for a few hours or the entire game is not 100% clear yet.

My understanding is that if someone is in your family or friend circle of 10 people, they can have access to all of your shared games at any time but only one of them can play at a time. You can always play your own games at any time, even if someone else is playing. So it really sounds pretty incredible and Microsoft really needs to explain things a lot better because people are freaking out but its really not as bad as people are making it out to be.

With that said I kind of got in a little scuff on Xbox Live last night with a friend. He said he is not getting the Xbox One. I asked why? I said there are alot of rumors going around that are not true.

When he continued on it more or less came out that everyone is talking **** about it so I do not want it. I gave him all the correct info I posted here and where to read it for himself. So with all his hearsay being debunked....

His final argument was that it is not fair for poor people so he was not going to get it. It is not fair that poor people can not play it offline and it costs to much. He also had to point out the comment "If they don't have internet they can play an Xbox 360". Only he wasn't even close and added a bunch of fluff to it. Microsoft was simply saying they have an option for people with no internet. It is going to have continued support and has some awesome games being released as well. Did it come out right when they said it? No.

Last but not least their fiends will make fun of them because they cant play Online. WHAT???!!! THATS A REASON????

That really pissed me off because it make no logical sense. I went on to tell him that people being poor is not the problem. It is an anger and outrage caused by bad information and people being afraid to say what I am after their initial response. Look at my first few posts I wasn't exactly thrilled with Microsoft. How ever I can admit I was wrong and try to help others understand.

So the logical reasons this will not effect poor people....

#1 If they are so poor that they can not afford internet I doubt they can make a 500.00 "fun" purchase to begin with.
#2 If they cant play online with the new system how in the hell are they playing online with the current one? Exactly they are already being made fun of. Lets not blame Microsoft for people being bullied.
#3 PS4 is also charging to play online now so they would still be stuck offline with it. Oh no here comes the bullies!
#4 THE PS4 IS STILL 400 DOLLARS! That is not a very big difference. I do not think an extra 100.00 is going to put that many poor people into a new system.

I bet 90% of them are running around with 80-90 dollar a month cell phone bills. Why not get a Metro, Boost, Virgin (ones in my area) phone that does all the same things for half the price? BOOM! There is your internet connection. Man that was tough wasn't it? I have to let my social status iPhone go WAHH!!! Those phones only are needed by people running a business or that need access to email/internet all day for their jobs. Not so "Like a G6" can play when you get a call. I realize some people may already have a cheap phone and still not afford internet internet, and I have other input that could help that, but wont go into it here.

I do not want people to get the wrong idea with this post and think I have no heart. I do. I contribute a decent sum of every pay check to my local United Way, and participate in Day of Caring benefits. I also donate hefty sums throughout the Holidays to feed families, and supply them gifts.

Sorry for the long rant but this topic has been mentioned enough times that I had to spell it out here too. If you can afford any of these items someone else that cant should not be a reason for you to not get it. Life isnt fair people!

I play quite a bit of Call of Duty. Based on the people who talk on there, there are plenty of poor people who have an xbox, the game, and an internet connection to talk smack on. I swear, I feel dumber after every other gaming session for it.

I think your friend just wanted to stick to his original argument and not admit to being wrong. (A very, very, very common behavioral trait.) But he does have a couple points (sort of).

Microsoft has a LOT of damage control to take care of, and some PR heads need to roll for not just being bad, but letting Sony take complete advantage of the situation. All of this confusion should never have happened. Clearly Sony has their gameplan in place and Microsoft is still unsure what's going on.

And the XBONE will cost more than the PS4 for now. That's a decently big deal, to be honest. Not a killer one, but it's an important consideration. Something Sony knows too well since the PS3's high original price. Microsoft needs to match that, or get very, very close to it.

I have a few friends that are like that, they are not buy a Xbox One because of all the BS on the internet. And yet...this is how it goes usually.

-So you do not want to have to connect all the time, but you play online everyday?
*Well, yeah but I don't want it to connect.

-So you are upset you have to buy it with a kinect yet you uses your v1.0 all the time & said before you wanted the updated one?
*Well, yeah but what if I did not want it?
-So you don't want the kinect 2.0?
*Well, no I want it.

So and so forth, and then when you say the fact they just back pedal and go. Well the PS4 has random X item, which I have never mentioned before nor will ever need but it makes my claim better now.

I've just about concluded I won't be getting anything on Day One. Can't be bothered with the XBox One unless something dramatically changes (not even mad about DRM or anything, just don't see me splashing out for it so quickly, and look what happened on 1st gen 360s!), and the PS4 has no game that interests me, nor do I give two cents about the social integration. Last thing I need is every 12 year old spamming the social button and then shouting how you're on his latest killcam.

Some responses about kinect are funny. Microsoft has confirmed you can turn Kinect off so it's defunct; all the system does is check if the peripheral is there. Don't like it? Do what I do at work: put a post it on top of the camera.

It's been mentioned before but if XBox goes through with their game sharing philosophy, gamefly is f*cked.
