In the United States, periods and commas always go inside the quotation marks. So far, you're the worst self-proclaimed Grammar Nazi ever.

Still, not as bad as the stupid apostrophes. I do know the period goes inside quotations, but it would just look stupid with it in there with only one word.

And to the person who corrected the title of the thread that was intentional.

So you knew that the period was supposed to go in the quotation marks but simply chose not to use correct grammar? How is choosing to make mistakes better than someone who unknowingly makes mistakes?
For example, let's say I have a factory that produces widgets. At the end of the day, I learn that two of my employees have messed up their widgets. One employee tells me that he accidentally messed his up while the other employee tells me that he knew how to build his widget correctly, but chose not to because he believes our product looks stupid. Which one do you think I'm going to fire?

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t care about periods or quotation marks. I just have to rub it in when you make a thread bitching about people’s use of grammar and then make mistakes in your first two posts.

That's because people in the USA do not use logic with regard to language or grammar. Therefore, a US English Grammar Nazi is a completely hypocritical existence.

Yes, I am one. I try not to let the interwebs get to me...

Examples of punctuation outside and inside quotation marks:
Did you read that book I gave you, "Frost's Mom"?
No, but I did read another book, "How Was Frost's Mom?"

Did you read the book "I'm going to ban your *** if you make Frost's mom jokes"? It's a hilarious story about me banning your wise ***.

Funny stuff aside, I do agree that the US should adopt the common sense use of quotation marks. However, I also think we should stop being one of only three idiot countries that won't adopt the metric system.

Was it in the 70's that the US tried to adopt the metric system and it was a huge fail?

All I use at work is the metric system and it makes so much more sense.

Yeah, the actual Act was in 1975. There was some type of governmental group that was in charge of transitioning us over the metric system, but Reagan disbanded it when he was making governmental cuts. After the group went away, it was really only a matter of time before all hopes to switching over fizzled out.
