Two totally different guns. What do you want to do with it?
|
XDM would be my preference, I've owned and fired both...Also I'm a firearms instructor...
|
I just don't know what you'd do with the Judge. I think maybe if I had a lot of land and needed something to clear out snakes with I'd carry a Judge with .410 shot shells, but that's about it.
|
I just picked up a Ruger LCP last week for CC. I'm taking it to the range for the first time in a couple of hours. Should be interesting. So far I have a Pierce mag extension, hogue grip, and a crimson trace laser for it.
|
Let us know how it goes.

Very promising video re: Glock extractors
Funny at the end. Good to see that type of ejection, though. |
the RUGER LCP is great for CC, some people give it a bad wrap for being a 380 and being hard to shoot but I find it very accurate and better than a 22 :icon18:

If I didn't post it before, Randy Lee's dissertation on the problem can be found here: Randy's dissertation on erratic ejection and extraction in the Gen 4 Glock 9mm pistol - M4Carbine.net Forums / |
That's pretty steep, but might end up being worth it if it works.
|
Just a quick note... the whackjob gun-grabbing left is putting a few new bills out. One would restrict magazine capacity to 10 rounds. Another would ban online ammo sales. What a load of BS.

With luck none of it will pass. Most of the politicians know that gun control can get them kicked out of office pretty quickly. Something like 70% of the nation opposes more gun controls.
Still made sure I contacted both my Senators to let them know where they should stand on these issues. ;) |

Here is my rebuttal to our president's "AK-47" speech:
http://www.the370z.com/members/black...gas-piston.jpg I was sick of waiting for the parts to become available to build my own gas piston AR and figured I can't "lewis" with LMT. So far I have "magpulled" it a bit and have ordered the mount for my Trijicon RMR which I will used on it. |

pretty much a cheaper shotgun alternative for 3 Gun Competitions instead of going with Benelli 24" barrel 9+1 Fiber Optics front sight semi-auto i can also use it to hunt with, just gotta block the mag tube |
So I have decided that, if Uncle Sam still allows by the end of the year, I'm going to get into reloading. I probably burn through 1,000+ rounds a month of 9mm, .45, and 5.56/.223 so it would probably pay off in the long run. I've already started marking my brass so I can collect it more easily at the range.
Kind of starting to research right now. The Dillon presses look pretty interesting. 550, 650, etc. Lots to learn. |

or if i wanna go baller and go with the 1050 and fully automate everything |
I don't need full auto, just a good progressive press. I don't mind placing the bullet and pulling the lever.
Over the long run I'd end up saving a good bit on ammo. Looks like I can get 5.56 down to under 20 cents a round and save a lot on the 45 as well. I don't really think I would save too much money reloading 9mm, but I'd probably do it anyways. |

anyway...most people ive talked to swears by the dillon presses theyre supposedly very reliable |
Ah, ok, 10-13 cents a round sounds better than what I was coming up with.
I need to get my Aimpoint PRO and a magnifier and BUS for my AR first. Then later I will start to accumulated the reloading supplies. But between now and then I'm going to start collecting all of my brass like I said. |
it isnt huge saving...i get 9mm for 17 cents a round right now
but wait...is uncle sam trying to outlaw reloading? i havent heard of this before |
The antis are always out to get us. I know two just recently sponsored a bill that would ban all online ammo sales. Not sure if it includes reloading components or not, and I doubt it will pass (or even make it to vote), but it's just something to keep in mind.
If BO wins a 2nd term and the Republicans don't take control of the Senate I'd be worried. If he wins a 2nd term and the Republicans somehow lose control of the House, I'd be very worried. |
Oh, in lighter news, this morning I went to the range with my dad for the first time in probably a decade. He hasn't shot since then and of course he goes out and hands my *** to me with my 1911 and all of my Glocks. Once a Marine always a Marine, I suppose!
It was a good time, though, and I think he's going to be coming to the range with me a lot now. So as long as he buys some ammo himself that will give me some free brass. :) |

The Cyber Security Act was struck down as well, which is good because Schumer attached a "high-capacity" magazine ban to it. I don't think it means anything to you guys in Commiefornia, but here in VA it would have sucked. |

i went to the range too. broke in my new shotgun with 100 rounds of high velocity slugs and shot 200 rounds of 9mm through the G34 and the Springer shooting IPSC tomorrow too shot a .470 Nitro Express in my Jersey trip which was pretty cool. Here's a comparison pic between the .470 NE and a .223 http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...g?t=1343705534 http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...g?t=1343705586 |
Holy crap! Lot of power in those things.
I want to pick up a Ruger GP100 revolver soon. And I want to rent the S&W 500 Magnum my range has. I think I'm turning into a bit of a recoil junky. I have so many large caliber handguns on my want-list now. I really want to see what all the fuss is about 10mm, too. |

next time im there im gonna shoot his .500 NE .500 Jefferey fully custom made from Africa .600 and a custom 8 bore the one on the far right is a 30-06(for size reference) and the far left is the 8 bore (i think its like $75 a round) http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...g?t=1343069622 |
NICE!!! I would love to shoot that stuff.
|
|
Well guys, the LCP was very accurate and felt pretty solid. My only gripe is that the grip was a little to small, but like unsaid I have a thicker houge grip, and a pierce grip extender on the way. From what I've read that should take care of my minor gripes. I also need to calibrate my crimson trace. It was way off. Yikes!

More tax just means more that they can mishandle and incompetently reappropriate.

Hollow points that penetrate body armor? Anyone do their homework before they comment or write a story anymore?
