Painful lesson on why it is important to pay attention to what your gun/ammo is doing.

Thank God he survived. His recovery has been remarkable too.

TBH, I'm not familiar with SLAP rounds so I more than likely would have made the same mistake. Honestly, most of us would have made that mistake so I can't blame him at all. There was subtle red flags that most of us would have missed. Hindsight is 20/20. Makes me wonder it there might have been a noticeable weight difference in the rounds. A round that hot makes me think double load or way hotter powder was used in that round. I wonder if he has any more that round can be taken apart to see if there is an explanation of why that one round was so hot.

Not sure where they're from but he claimed it was unmolested military surplus. What do you think happened?

I'll say this, him shooting a pistol at the end of the vid was nice. To me it seamed like he was a little hesitant pulling that trigger on that first shot. Don't know why... The smile he gave after that first shot made me happy. No body would blame him if he took a break from shooting.

Did you guys see this update?

Supposedly the threads of the cap could hold up to 161K PSI!

Either way that was one hooooooooot round.

Also the possibility of those SLAP rounds bing fraudulent is looking more likely.

Yeah.....

And if it came from Eastern Europe, it could have been 'modified'...

I seen the video last night. Did you see the pictures of the SLAP rounds? The regular rounds have a split sabot with a crimp. The Other rounds have no splits in the sabot and no crimp. Would like to see the rounds from KB. Tear them apart and measure the powder charge in all of them.

Yep! I’m eagerly awaiting Serbu’s analysis of the rifle and remaining rounds. Hopefully KB ships the rifle and ammo this week like what Serbu said.

I've been reading through the proposal. The article is a little misleading and missing facts. Like the 13.5" thing is referring to length of pull not OAL. Also the 2 determination points against red dots isn't red dots by themselves but red dots with magnifiers because they have limited eye relief. Basically any sights, magnifiers, scopes, etc. that have limited eye relief, that can't be used at arm length are points against the weapon when determining if it is a SBR or Pistol. That's why BUIS are a dink against the weapon too because they think BUIS or any rifle sights can't be used at arm length. I kind of see ATF's point about sights that encourages or requires "shouldering" the weapon for proper use but I say how about we repeal the NFA. It's dated and not to mention racist and classist in origin.

Any law that violates the Constitution is unconstitutional. The $200 'transfer tax' is essentially a 'tax to exercise a right', aka a poll tax. The poll tax was struck down by SCOTUS as unconstitutional.
