I found an app called "Reloading Inventory" to help me keep track of on hand components and loaded ammo. Now I have to sit down and enter everything I have.

I've noticed that the 'big thing' now is to tumble with stainless steel pins. I'm not sure what that is supposed to do, but my Lyman cleaner with walnut media, does a pretty good job of getting the cases clean. I've been pondering an ultra sonic cleaner, I may do some more research on them. Do I need a special solution, etc.....

I've pondered getting into casting, but with the price of equipment having gone up considerably since I started reloading, the amortization time isn't making sense. I can buy good cast bullets from folks that are close enough that I can go pick them up, plus it's a great excuse to get the Z out and do some local exploring at the same time.
I have te Lyman vibrator too. Found out the red cob cleans better then the green cob. Wife got me the Hornady ultra sonic cleaner for Xmas. It's faster and cleans better then the vibrator. The stainless pins is a tumbler. You have to mix cleaner with the pins. Rinse and dry. About the same amount of time as the vibrator. The ultra sonic. You have to mix a couple oz of cleaner with water. Distilled works the best. No spots. 2 types of cleaner. Brass and gun parts.

For casting. The furnaces got $$$. So did the molds. I used to get old wheel weights and mix some linotype in with it to bring up the hardness. Wheel weights are harder to get now. Have about half ton of bearing babbit I got it from where I used to work at. It has more elements in it. Have to add pure lead to the mix so that the weight of the bullet is close to where it's suppose to be. Otherwise they come out light.

How much brass can you get out of the cleaner? Is it really that much better? I've sort of looked at them a few times but never pulled the trigger.

I've always used a capful of the Nu-Finish car wax in the tumbler with some torn up shop towels, and the brass comes out really pretty good looking, almost new most of the time.

I know, I got to the party late. Can't wait to try it out!

And maybe compare these two.

Did someone say guns!?!?

Put together this AR a few years ago and recently upgraded my LPK with a better trigger and some other internal parts. I have yet to go shoot the damn thing.

I would like your post but my browser couldn't zoom out far enough for those pics.

Not sure why it wouldn't resize my pics. I don't have that problem on any other site. Let me see if I can just attach the pics.

Ah, forget it. My browser is blocking uploads, and I'm not changing my security settings.

This could easily be a gun forum disguised as a 370Z forum.
I am having trouble with the RCBS primer pocket swager dies in a new lee press. (.223)
The center rod is sticking in the case and hard to get off. Sometimes the top of the case is smashed, And I have made several adjustments. I am thinking about getting the RCBS bench top swager tool instead, or maybe the dillon. Any thoughts?

as far as cleaning brass, I have a Franklin Tumbler with walnut shells. I wash in a two- liter bottle and dry the shells on a tray atop the boiler pipes. I am researching some ultrasonic cleaners too, because they work well to clean small carburetors.

I had to fiddle with my swagger dies for awhile to get them adjusted right.

I have both the Lyman 1200 Vibrator and the 7L Hornady UltraSonic cleaners. With the Lyman, I found out that the red walnut worked best. Like any other vibrator. I have to clean out the primer pocket and flash hole with a small pick. With the UltraSonic, I don't have to. The primer pocket is clean, so is the inside of the case. I haven't used the Lyman since I got the UltraSonic. If that tells you anything.

Did your swager come with two rods? It sounds like you might be using the larger one, which would explain the case sticking. As I recall, setting up this die is a royal pain in the ***, there's no good way to measure anything. Best suggestion would be to put the shell holder in the press, run the swager down to where there is about 1/8" gap between the die housing and the shell holder (two nickels stacked is pretty close). Put an unprimed case in, bring the ram all the way up, then adjust the center rod until it touches the webbing inside. (It's tough to feel). From that point, it's adjust the rod until a primer will seat with normal pressure. What makes this such a pain is that you have to do this each time you use it. I'm pondering the bench mount swager at this point.

Oh, and don't forget to put the metal cup with the hole on before you start swaging...

I have the RCBS swager dies that I normally use on my single stage RockChucker press.

Here we go again.

ATF: It's Now Legal to Shoulder an AR-15 Pistol Equipped with an SB Tactical Arm Brace - The Truth About Guns

PDF of the ATF's letter.
https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/wp...al-3.21.17.pdf

Now the current gen stabilized Kriss Vector Pistol uses a SB Tactical arm brace.

Hmmmm a Vector pistol might be in my future.

Especially in 10mm.

Probable won't get one.
