Is was at 12:30. Told him that he just lost a sell. Got back into the Jeep and went to the mall. Inside is a place that fixes cell phones. What's wrong with mine. The lens for the camera is worn down from being in my back pocket. Talked to the guy there. Said it would take 15 minutes to fix. But he has to order the lens. I walked into a T-Mobile store to get a new S21, walked out about 30 minutes later. No appointment needed.

Now to remember all the damn passwords.....

T Mobile is not big here. Not a lot of coverage.

I noticed. Cell phones are nothing but short-range radios any way. They just have to reach the nearest tower, then it all goes fiber-optics through the network to the tower closest to the receiving phone.

I have to remind some folks I know around here. They are always whining about dropped calls....

Around here. Dropped calls happens to everyone when you drive into a valley. Even sat radio dies.

It depends where the radio is mounted. If it is on the ground, then it runs through waveguide/coax. 1/58, 2, 2 1/4, 7/8, etc.

Is Sprint? It will take time to merge the networks together. Plus, we have other stuff in the works. Give it time.

My background is in RF. I worked on the ground-based radios that talked to the aircraft. HF, VHF, UHF and associated antennae.

I'm familiar with waveguides, our microwave transmitter (AN/TRC-97) used waveguides and a klystron, but I didn't work on those. Most of my stuff used RG-58 to connect to the antenna, but most of the VHF radios used RG-8 via BNC connectors. I was just really good at making HF work with a omni-directional antenna.
