Came into work today, took 3.5 hours for them to get their crap together, restore my account, and finally I rejoin the ranks of the productive.

Wtf guys.

Typical IT guys. Got to fvck something up to justify their jobs.

:hello:

Z is driving again :D :driving:

Forgot to put on the styrofoam bumper reinforcement, but that's ok because I didn't have the upper radiator shroud handy, which means I'll have to take the bumper off again anyway.

Need to find a new RH air guide. Dealer wants $70 for one :icon14:

Second coat is much more even...and would have been better if I didnt walk in front of the fan on way to oven.

I think I might try to shoot a coat of Racing Red from Prismatic over the white. They say to use the silver base but it cant hurt to try it out.

I pulled into a full parking lot at the office with the Z :icon14:

Thankfully my uphill spot in the shade with the extra 5 foot aisle was available. They are installing 5G and tearing up the sidewalk out in front of the lot. I had quick conversation with the workers and the parking lot went from 7 cars to 3 cars :)

It came out quite pink. would need another coat to make it look better. I grabbed another piece of metal laying around (coilover spanner) and just tried straight up racing red on polished steel. Its currently baking.

This is kinda addicting and fun. I can already see a bunch of crap around the house thats gonna get sprayed that has no business being sprayed. :icon17:

I'm going to be mailing you a box of parts to be coated along with a prepaid return label. I'll wait until you get a bit more experience though :bowrofl:

Working late every night, studying on what the errors are, and then doing it again the following day. All for less money than the previous techs who left made. This job was great for the first year when I had actual help and others to work along side. Then they left and I am solely in charge of it all. Back right where I started.

Susan is getting mad at me because I am working more than being able to spend time with her. My mental strength is basically shot from just the amount of talks happening. And when I tell the lovely doctors that I am constantly depressed or stressed out, I just get told to suck it up.

Just a crappy day. Good little vent. I'll go eat a bagel and hopefully be in a happier mood.

I like these doctors...

tell me, when they tell you to suck it up, do they say dude on the end???

You ever have a crane tip over on site. :rofl2:

Watched one go over at Ashland oil refinery in Canton Ohio. A big DeMag. They was lifting a big azz piece for a cracker unit. Almost had it in place. That set the outage back a month.

Part of the prep work. Protect the threads, and holes. No fun chasing threads after everything else is done.

Turned out OK with no base coat but any discoloration in the metal and you can see it in the finish.

Same. As long as I am not climbing through rafters 75ft in the air with no harness and a busted scissor lift in a 100% humidity filled warehouse again.

I prefer to follow osha rules. Also prefer pulling cables in new structures and commercial buildings were most offices are drop ceilings. Makes access point hanging and cable pulling a breeze.

Are you one of those people that support them from the piping for the fire sprinkler system? :icon08: :shakes head:

Did I tell you the story of the plumber that had a ladder start to tip and he grabbed the pipe? It happened to be over our datacenter, where water lines were not suppose to be ran, ever.

Nah, I prefer to do it the right way. I order the proper mounts when we are going to hang stuff from tiles.

JARblue 08-20-2020 02:17 PM

I was on a job site in a room and the superintendent told us they had a sprinkler pipe bust in there just 2 days earlier. We didn't believe him because there was absolutely no evidence of water damage

Well, what had happened was a really quick thinking electrician did a really dumb thing and smashed a sprinkler head in the bathroom with his ladder. He then ripped the flex hose out of the ceiling and aimed it into the bathtub. It only took them a couple of hours to clean up the mess that wasn't in the bathtub lol

I recommend a wipe down using lint-free rags and at least 70% Isopropyl alcohol. After that, wear gloves and coat within 24 hrs. We find that minimizes blemishes caused by oils from hands and dirt.

That is what I did for second piece lol. I used a paint prep product with a nonlint rag. turned out much better as you can see in the pics. I appreciate the advice, keep it coming.

Keep in mind you need high temp tape. I'll post a link to the place I get my stuff from when I get home.
