Most hunting/sporting goods stores will have a selection of cameras for night-time use. Some even have motion-sensing to save room on the memory card. Many are designed to strap to a tree trunk but have other mounting options.

Yeah it chipped. Nah, I havent done things by the book at all. I set up a fan to blow that **** away from me, no respirator, no gloves and I just set the parts on the concrete retaining wall ouside garage to spray. I really just wanted to try things out. :icon17:

Some of the new trail cameras will send a picture back to your phone now.

Morning all! Working from home for a few hours, I have some contractors coming out to quote a new garage. Wife wants to take the collapse as an opportunity to go with a 3 bay, higher roof for a lift. I'm cool with that, but I know what it's going to cost. :shakes head:

Likely dimensions - 40' x 30' x 12'. Loft and stairs and side door. My estimate, with labor costs in this part of PA - 40k.

jchammond 08-21-2020 06:17 AM

Nothing. Our insurance is very specific on not covering water damage or damage from movement of earth. :owned:

Good Friday Morning All. Hope you all are having a good week. The Mrs and I went down to the coast for a few days to get out of town. Still played it safe though by getting a house that had it's won pool. Got meals to go from the restaurants and grilled steaks and did our own cooking. :yum: The weather was great but like here in Austin it was hot. 103* for the high today with 10% chance of rain which we need. Have a great Friday guys. Stay Safe, Stay Positive and Keep Washing Those Hands.

I assume you will be removing some earth so that collapse or drainage issue won't happen again. That will add on to the estimate.

I was factoring that in. The collapse issue would not have happened had the back wall been built properly. Original construction done with hollow block on a pad. Should have been done with rebar in the block, into the pad, and block filled with concrete to make it act like a single contiguous surface. Huge difference in strength as well. Dirt was up the back wall about 5 feet.

New plan includes french drain system for the back wall to prevent some of the same build up of pressure. Between the increase in strength and the better drainage, we'll be alright. Hell, the original poor construction still lasted 50 years. I just happened to come in at the end of those 50 ;)

Hah. Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy with the final product, but not happy about that much money going out so quickly. But Megan certainly makes enough to allow her to make these kind of choices.

Pretty likely. I can't fault State Farm really, except in the general way in which I fault all insurance companies for trying to do everything they can to avoid covering their clients; they do spell out coverage clearly in their policy. That said, kind of funny they cover bear attacks and not water.

State Farm charged me extra premium for flood and hurricane damage!

And

Wouldn’t cover if I suffer penile fracture In any type of calamity!!! :shakes head:
