My back is already feeling better not having to sit for 8 hrs every day. I may get a brace for the side bars though. The desk gets a little wobbly after the 5ft mark.

Should be an interesting afternoon for me. I’m going under the knife to repair a double hernia which I got earlier this spring/ summer cutting up that huge oak at my dad’s house.:shakes head: Doctors wanted to do it last month but I wanted to wait till after the trip out to Rusty’s
Doc says it’s about a 2 hr. surgery :ugh2:
Worst thing is I can’t have my morning COFFEE

Hey Rick I didn’t know you are hurting at Rusty’s labor day meet, youre good in hiding that hernia pain.

Good luck with the surgery I’ll be adding you to my daily prayer blessing!
2 hr surgery? I hope they give you headphones sound tracks of Debbie Does Dallas moans and wooha while on surgery just to keep you entertained!

Most are rust buckets. If you find a good one they will cost a mint.

That's what I gathered after doing some quick reading. Too bad. It's a cool platform.

Yeap, I have my 1975 280zt in the garage. I had to replace the floorboards back in 2010. I have owned the car since 1992.

I meant to ask you, when you were running your 300zx tt how much power were you making?

madwi 09-14-2020 04:25 PM

Gonna dip into the 40s tonight. Might have to drive the Z and get some nice cool weather boostin' going.

It was mostly stock with an intake and exhaust. I was too poor to mod it much back then. I was a college student. Plus, My 280zt took the wind out of my sails modding cars. I broke all kinds of stuff on that car. That car was and still is a love hate relationship. I just can't sell it because I know I will want another one and they are not around.

I had a '71 240Z. I had a stroked 280Z motor installed (3.0 liter). Triple 44 mikuni's, can't remember which head I had on it. 5 speed. That thing was super dependable, would start right up. I did have to replace u joints quite a bit though :icon17:

ThankZ again guys, it’s great to have friends like y’all

My 1975 280zt was my first Turbo car. It was decently quick. Fast enough to outrun the headlights. The headlights on those cars weren't that great but I did have a set of Marchal headlights at that time. The open diff in the car would dang near try to kill you. It could be a handful at 11psi of boost but it was on rails for the most part. I also owned a 1987 300zxt. The 300zxtt was a piece of crap when I bought it. I fixed it up and had a nice TT car. The young man I bought it from got a DUI. Needless to say the car was neglected. That was my dream car. Maintenance on it was not cheap but I turned a wrench full time at Nissan while I went to school full time. It was tough. I wish I would have keep it. My wife still regrets letting me sell it.

I was looking into doing that to my 1980 280zx. Then I went for a ride in a turbo car and couldn't get out the seat when the TQ hit. I was hooked. I bought the 1975 280zt.

jchammond 09-14-2020 06:29 PM

And tonight’s featured special “Wichita”

I was going to turbo the 240. The shop that built it was going to make a blow through manifold for the mikuni's. I was happy with it NA so I never followed through with the turbo

Shooting a pilot on location. 16 hour days with one 1/2 hour lunch break per day. This wouldn't happen on a union gig. Oh well. I'll suck it up and be strong. Now I'm wishing my foot wounds were healed. Might make it more enjoyable. At least it's a comedy with Uncle Elroy... should be entertaining at least.

So you guys can get a feel for how much things cost for the 300zxtt back in the 90's. FUCA's to adjust camber only were $2500 dollars back in day. When I found out they were only 7xx for the 370z I was doing the happy dance. No uprev/Ecutek back then. You had to take and send the ECU off to have a EPROM put in. If you watch Specialty Z on Instagram he has done a couple. If you had major upgrades you were putting in, a standalone was needed to the tune of about 5-10k plus tuning. Things started to change and become cheaper in the 2000's with the new ECU's. 300zxtt upgrades were like GTR upgrades of today are. Just outrageous.

Now that I have a lift I want to pick one up and have been looking for the right one to come along.
