You talking about the alligator snapping turtle? Those things look like dinosaurs... and get huge.

Btw, those anoles sleep at night under leaves of bushes and trees. It was always fun waking them up!!! Im sure they were like .

yep, freaking love them things.

Fun anecdote coming up. I camp at a place called Blind Sucker Creek in the U.P., on the shore of Lake Superior. There is a flooding with a small dam that leads to a trout stream. I was standing there catching some shiners for Pike fishing and I swear I saw the very large boulder in the creek move. Passed it off as imagination until that mother fucker started walking! I about **** my pants, It was a GIANT snapping turtle.

Was riding my motorcycle a couple of years back. Seen one of those boulders with legs walking across a 4 lane highway. At first, I thought that something had fallen off the back of a truck until I got closer.

I caught a pretty large snapping turtle on a spoon on my rod and reel at camp in Tennessee when I was about 12. It took me forever to drag it from the fishing dock all the way up the hill about 1.5 miles to the dining hall. We secured it and announced turtle soup would be available at dinner. Some clowns decided that was inhumane and released it. I literally caught the same turtle again 2 days later. Needless to say, I didn't tell anyone and enjoyed a very well made turtle soup with a few select individuals

I have never acquired the taste for turtle. It is just too swampy tasting for me. I cant imagine what a snapper tastes like. imagining a muddy fish reptile thats been decaying for a while.
