The pics here are the outer boards just used for a 1.5” spacer; plan to put the form boards against these & remove these spacer boards afterwards

But after looking hard at it....wondering if it’s gonna be a peckerhead getting concrete all around the post & to the outside that 1.5”

Could have the concrete just inside the 6x6’s & then use solid cement blocks between the 6x’s all the way around, as when garage is let down to resting point, it will be bolted back to the 6x’s to hold in place.

Thought’s and any other idears welcome

Or either delete the concrete from going to outside of 6x posts & risking breaking off that piece....

I know there’s plenty ways to skin this puss

Again I’m in need of a sketch or something showing what your end goal is for the columns and slab.

High level, 1.5” is not going to be enough cover on the outside of those columns. That **** is going to crack and ultimately break off.

Too me, all this is craziness. It's just a dang garage. JC needs to stop spending everything he has on this thing and just get it done although it has been a backwards start from the get go. LOL

If he would have put down the foundation first. He wouldn't have to jack the whole thing up.

Gotta cut Joby some slack. He was trying to study for tests, recover from his accident and keep Garfield happy.....

Then someone sold him a Z and his brain went into melt down....

He would have been fine had he gone with a reg post frame shed. That's what i thought he was doing for the first week or two.

If we don't ship a chit load of grain to china in the next week or 2 I might have to pack up some tools and go help him out.

It’s actually easy to raise & lower...with the correct tools
Gonna be sturdier than a conventional post frame building

8.5” of wood will sit around the 6” minimum thickness concrete; but the building will be bolted to the 20-6x6 posts that are cemented 42-48” in the ground before any more wood is fastened to it.
The 5/8” bolts are currently holding the structure suspended until the concrete is finished & drys 5-6 weeks.

Are you going to put a window in the back of the garage so you can look @ your Z from your house? Bc that would be awesome!
