I think it's time to toss all 500+ of the idiots out and start over, this time with term limits...

I'm about ready to move out of the country, but I need someplace that doesn't freeze and doesn't have an extradition treaty with the US.....

Sounds like you need a yacht that you can anchor 12 nautical miles offshore. Not sure if you'll want to keep your Z though...

Great idea, but at some point, the yacht needs fuel and supplies. I'm leaning towards Ecuador, the climate is pretty good and I can live well on what I have. Of course, I'll have to sell the Z, it's not designed for mountain roads and a burro is better.

I'm still searching for info on the other things....

There is definitely a certain appeal to that. Drawbacks too, depending. I did a bit of reading on it a while back, and it turns out that our legal system is complex enough you need years to understand how to actually write a bill and pass it without huge unforeseen consequences. And while I'm mostly ok with our government failing to pass new bills, there are occasions where its possible it could be necessary.

That's a vast oversimplification but it took me from "WE NEED TERM LIMITS NOW!!" back to "OUR POLITICIANS ARE DOUCHEBAGS!!'

Years ago, I took some time and read "The Federalist Papers". The hard part was finding them (this was back in the Dark Ages, B.G.) Those lead me to more writings from the folks that penned the Constitution. It appears that the 'original idea' was to have people serve for a short time, then return to their respective towns and teach. I don't think they ever intended for us to have 'career politicians'.

I'm really tired of all the stupidity in Foggy Bottom right now. Sometimes I think the show "Designated Survivor" could be a vast improvement...

I have the book, The Federalist Papers. It's the manual for the Constitution. If you read it. It's explains what the founding fathers was thinking. Those was some very bright people. Way ahead of their time.

Hah yeah the fact that we've managed to turn it into a full career is a huge problem. My comment was more that there are definitely drawbacks to adding term limits which need to be considered. (I have a copy of the Federalist Papers as well, good reading).

I have know idea if civics are even taught in High School and college anymore. It was a requirement to graduate from both when I went through. Hell well were taught about how Bill's become law in the police academy. I had to learn all that stuff because I wrote administrative rules and laws to be passed by State Legislature.
