A few years ago, my gf was taking a bath and we had a pretty nice earthquake. For the next few weeks, we had earthquakes happening. She didnt take baths for a while after that

power stayed on too!
10 yrs. ago last Christmas lost power for the whole week between Christmas and New Years, no problem cause l had a portable generator, a bit of a hassle but no big deal
Bit the bullet and purchased a whole house back up generator ...... In the following 10 yrs. I haven't put on 10 hrs. on the thing

But now there's piece of mind in knowing that if I'm gone and the power goes out the sump and furnace will continue to operate

The fire dept and the power line crews have been real busy here. About every 15 minutes, the sirens was going off yesterday. It's still breezy today.

We call that insurance down here in FLA... You'll usually go 5 to 10 years Hurricane damage free starting the next season after buying a generator.

Yeah, that's basically what it is, that and piece of mind !
Oh yeah, it also an added resale value when you live rural like I do

Driving into work. Chit got torn up. Seen one camper over on it's side in someone's yard. Trees down everywhere. Today is garbage pick up day in my neighborhood. Garbage cans all over the place.
