First I am hearing about this. And she's sitting right next to me right now.

Leingod 01-18-2019 06:59 PM

I'm sure Bob will have his engine rebuilt by then. Uhhh....

Shes in charge of the drive if we do make the trek. Idk who she's knows in VA if we sleep over somewhere. I wouldn't be opposed to just stopping at a cheap hotel either.

eastwest2300 01-18-2019 07:08 PM

there you go, smart thinkin.

Him & Spooler both

eastwest2300 01-18-2019 07:12 PM

(mike) our planning has gotta be spot on, there is literally zero cell phone coverage, so it would be ideal for us to link up in the city before we head into the mountains.. it'll be our last chance to get everything we need (at walmart) including topping off our gas tanks before we're isolated.

eastwest2300 01-18-2019 07:15 PM

once we do that, we head in, hit the camp site, set everything up which literally should take less than 30 min, and most of that will be pulling everything out the Z, setting up the tent takes 5 minutes (no joke) then head into the village and meet up with every body, do dinner, drink and all that good stuff.. once we meet up in town, I'll give you a walkie talkie..

Leingod 01-18-2019 07:21 PM

In terms of planning where to meet, I'll let you and Scott figure that stuff out since Susan and I are easy going. You set a time and I can meet you wherever is needed. We could pass out some walkie talkies for the ride if needed when we hit dead coverage areas.

I gotta convince scott to wake up early, so we can hit the road early.. I think last time we were on the road by 715 and we got into the village at like 6, but we stopped a couple times and got caught up in a ton of construction in indiana.. needless to say, we're not going that way again.

eastwest2300 01-18-2019 07:27 PM

mike.. what city in NY are you located in? I wanna google map it, and look at your route.

Rome, NY. Literally smack dab right in the middle of the state. Not Buffalo like you originally thought. We don't associate with that part of the state. Friggen Canadians.

Happy Friday night you filthy animals.

eastwest2300 01-18-2019 08:07 PM

hey mike, when you google map your spot to maryville, tn its 847 miles.. (60 miles less than going straight into fontana village, nc.

eastwest2300 01-18-2019 08:09 PM

you ask why maryville, tn? this is the very last spot before you head onto the dragon headed to fontana village, this will be our meeting spot! there's a walmart approximately 2 miles before you head into the mountains.. this is our spot (this is literally everyone's spot). I'll send you the address.

Leingod 01-18-2019 08:11 PM

Perfect! I shot you a text. Send it to Susan as well since I stand a likely chance of forgetting come May.

Might have to get a group chat going for people who are coming on Thursday. That's if I actually drive still. Flying is still a possibility.

Good grief, long day and on a Friday no less. You may have to go home and get in that bubble bath...

Thats what I do... :icon17:

eastwest2300 01-18-2019 08:25 PM

hey mike, take a look at that route, it looks like your fastest way is going through scranton, and harrisburg pa, then 81 into va..its less than 13 hours, and i would guess you'd be able to go pretty quick through pa, but careful through va, radars are illegal, and those pricks like to sit in the middle of highway in the tree where there turnabouts.. once you get out of va you'll be able to pick up your speed again.

Leingod 01-18-2019 08:27 PM

How the hell are radars illegal? That sounds illegal just by itself. Guess I'll add my damn jammars before entering that state. Go big or go back home.

Yes, Virginia outlawed radar detectors. You get caught with one, they confiscate it and fine you...

Now if you have a Valentine detector... they dont pick those up on their receivers...

i run my passport escort when going through, I just pull it off the dash and hold it (usually) in my hand.

Spoiler 01-18-2019 08:54 PM

I always run my Valentine through there... I’ve never had a problem either... its not as bad as it sounds. Like you said as long as you take it down off of the window, you probably will be good

BoneZ 01-18-2019 08:55 PM

Be kind a hard to do that with my blend mount. Of course I probably wouldn’t have to drive thru VA.
