Yeah it is a bit crazy,
I'm a pump station operator, operating 8 stations for 3 different communities, we have 6 operators, 2 on sick leave, one on vacation no problem until it rains, which is going to be
( according to forecasters ) fri. & sat. and then I'll have to deal with the residual effects on Sunday.
Don't get me wrong this job has rewarded me with a good life style but after 20 yrs it gets a little old

I've been in your shoes quite a few times. When at the power plant. Did a lot of 16hr days, back to back. 112 hours in 1 week. :shakes head: Now I'm laying on the porch to speak of .

Good Morning all! :)
Worked a bit over yesterday & didn’t get a timeout; layed down before 8pm,,,now up & ready to get this day started!
Gonna coffee up & get to shop early; may go ahead & service Toyota early (7500mi.) & send sample in for inspection.....mfg. recommended 10k sounds like a lot; but “Blackstone-Labs” will know.
Only 6-12’ish on the clock today & back to the house for a short nap & then aboard the “Lawnmower”
:)

The first one is the worst because I'm up over 27 hrs. And that just throws the whole system out of wack
But 112 hrs in a week, it takes a lot to bounce back from that!
I salute you my friend!

Have a good one

My sleep pattern is Fudged up; as I was on a swing shift 10-7’ish & sometime was 10pm getting off...then got moved Friday a week to morning’s (7-3:30’ish).....just felt wore out at the end of day.
Due to recent 3 & 3:30pm “Firetruck” roadcalls & nobody on that shift; shop operations mgr. has been having to take them himself.
Monday- back on my (10 to when) shift,,,I like that better & can focus on some project jobs that are currently tore down in shop.
We work on everything from weed eater/lawnmowers to tractors,Dumptrucks, backhoes, trackhoes (mini & 330’s),,,and don’t forget Firetrucks!
Engines,Tankers,Ladders,etc....
Police cars & Ambulances are repaired & serviced on light side of shop.

When we was building the power plant in 2002. I did alot of those shifts. Keeping the construction crews in line. Any thing over 40 was OT. 72 hrs of OT per was some NICE pay checks. At that time. I was making about 30 bucks an hour. About $4440 a week. After construction. We went to a 12 hr shift. 6:30 to 6:30. One month of days, one month of nights. The shift was a 5 and 2. 5 days on, 5 days off, 2 day on, 2 days off. One week you would get 48 hrs, the following week would be 36 hrs. 8 hrs of OT built into your pay check. The way my schedule was. Off every Monday and Tuesday. Work every Wednesday and Thursday. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Every other week. Worked those days, the following week would be off. So every other weekend would be a 5 day weekend. If I took off Wednesday and Thursday off. I would have 7 days off and only use 24 hrs of vacation time.

And I walked away from that job. $150,000 plus a year.

Looking on offer up, someone is selling 15' pearl white front and rear bumpers for $500 together..................horrible.

They are cracked, chipping/missing paint, no badges, front leds are gone along with the red part.

And he states its a great deal.
:shakes head: :gtfo2:

killrain 07-21-2018 03:34 PM

Will spend 2-4 times that price to get the looking good again. Not including the leds.

So 80,000-78812=1,188-900=288 you need.
