I go to Lancaster about once a year to service our machine there. Last time I was there, I was checking into the hotel in Allentown 15 minutes ahead of the tornado.... :eekdance:

Next time I head that way, I'll shoot you a message.

Usually around May. This year it was May 15, it all kind of depends on the hospital when it comes to date scheduling.

Ian B 07-23-2018 11:42 AM

As I was taught in Hazmat class. Up wind, Up hill, Up stream. That's the safest place to be.

Yeah, I know. Right now, I don't have a lot of control over the scheduling, so I'm at the mercy of people that wait until the last possible minute to schedule. I've been trying to convince them that maintenance scheduling needs to be done quarterly, instead of monthly. That way we can get the best deals on flights and hotels; and so I can go to ZDayZ... :icon17:

When I worked for Elliott. Spring and fall. Forget on taking time off. Go from one outage to the next. Sometimes would do like 4 outages in a row before coming home. At the power plant. We would plan 2 outages. One in the spring and one in the fall. Normal 9 days unless we was doing something major. Then it could last 45 days or more. Forget about taking time off during those periods.

Rusty 07-23-2018 09:53 PM

I tired. :tiphat:

Quick post before the day begins. First day as yesterday. Whole new world of experience for me. I'm still a little hesitant I made the correct move. It's a lot to take in and is way outside the normal IT area. Hopefully today I get a better understanding of what I'll be doing day to day since I'll be shadowing other techs.

Hope everyone is doing well. I'll try to hop on when I can. These next few weeks just may be a mess.

Headed back to the land of no cell phones for a few days.
If I see any interesting wildlife will take a picture.

That's how I felt at first when I came to my current job. Don't fret it. At absolute worst, you gain a valuable new set of skills and move on. At best, you rise to the challenge, dominate this new area, and improve. Challenge is good.

I think I just have undiagnosed anxiety issues until I get comfortable in a new setting. I just need to stick with this and get comfortable again.

Playing head shrink on your self is never a good thing. You need to go to someone who can crack your skull. Then you will have papers to prove that you're not crazy.

Patiently waiting on the FedEx and UPS guys to deliver some car parts today. Adding a front camera and camera on demand switch to the wife's SUV and AT fluid change on the Q. Excited for some garage time!

i'll also be in the garage tonight. gotta detail a couple of the cars in inventory.

JARblue 07-24-2018 02:06 PM

At the airport headed home.

I have a brand new garage door as of last night. Neighbor ran off some would be burglars that tried to break into my house yesterday evening. They damaged the garage door with their vehicle - thankfully the Z is fine. Did not appear they entered the house. Fun times :ugh2:

I've got a front/rear camera to add to mine as well, but I need to find a way to keep it "always on" and I suck with wiring!

Installed a new ceiling fan in the barn.
The old one was an old house fan with a wobble & was useless on any speed over low, new one is commercial and moves some volume
