Just got the TDX cat back w/ 18" resinators & ceramic coated long tube headers installed and tuned. I had very high expectations for this set-up based on what I have read from other forum members. All I can say is WOW! Tony, you have exceeded the expectations that I had in both performance and sound! It was worth the wait and every penny that I spent! Thanks again!!!

And I am 529! Wonder how long it will be before I open my email to find a tracking number from Tony. Rich, from your paper work what is the ETA of your expected delivery? I want to get an idea of when to set up a Saturday install. Thanks Darkpath |
UPS tracking shows delivery to the shop on Tuesday, June 26th, by end of day........and of course will installed by E.O.B. Wed.

Mine is sitting at home all by itself waiting for me to come home and unwrap it. I just got conformation it was delivered and signed for! Silly question, but can the shipping box fit in the Z? or do I have to unpack it all and lay it in the hatch for transport? I'll have to go to the installer (P tuning). I know its easy to install and I have done exhausts, camshafts, brakes and all kinds of work before on cars and bikes when I had a house, but I live in a condo now and no working on cars in there. I got nasty looks from co-owners when I did the dynamatt....Plus I'm lazy now, and at 49 and have lost enough blood with busted knuckles in the past crawling in and around cars and bikes. I would rather just pay somebody to do the work at this point.

Unpack it.

I'm thinking #532 should be shipped next week :happydance:

Un pack it but remember to take a towel or bed dheet to cover the the car when you put it in the "trunk" specially you will need it if you are putting the oem in the car after install.

When people post about learning their tracking numbers - they should post their order order numbers too.. A post saying - Mine's coming... Let's us know who's getting theirs - but we have to do a search to know what order goes with your name.. Make sense?

After a quick - catch me up on current event with Tony, the following email arrived:
This message was sent to you at the request of Fast Intentions Inc. to notify you that the electronic shipment information below for CBE # 529 has been transmitted to UPS. Fellas, to say the least Tony is up to his eyes with the shop move and a few personal items... But as indicated by this email - he remains on top of business and has shipped my set up within the time window promised way back in April. Patience is a virtue and as excited as I am to see it on my porch (maybe as early as Friday) Ican now set my sights clearly on a summer filled with sweet tones coming out of the backside of my Z! Hang tough # 530... You're on deck! DP |
DarkPath,......this time tomorrow i'll be cruising with mine and sure yours will be soon.:happydance:http://www.the370z.com/images/smilies/happydance.gif

How am I #532 if I've been waiting since march! Oh well, almost home :)

There is a lot to be said regarding the conversation between the young bull and the 'seasoned' bull who says in reply to the young bully's suggestion that we "Run down there and catch one of those cows". I say "We Walk down there and catch all of them". (replace "catch" with expletive)
Patience while awaiting Your F.I. CBE is a virtue with similar profound expectations. |
My FI CBE w/ 18" was installed today. All I can say is reiterate what others have already said....sounds better than hoped for, not too loud and not quiet.
For those of you waiting or contemplating what exhaust to install, this is top notch design and engineering, fits like a glove, no rattles, leaks, or drone. It is exactly as Tony explained to me in March....possibly more. Tony.....you have excellent products, not to mention customer service, and I look forward to reading about you moving to your next larger shop....you shall exceed as long as you maintain your exceptional CS and Quality of Products...and I want in if you ever contemplate an IPO. Thanks, Rich http://www.the370z.com/images/smilies/tiphat.gif |
Not trying to hijack the thread but I just installed my FI exhaust a few months back and the 12" resonators are a little too loud for me. Anyone with the 18" resonators want to trade out for something a little louder?
Here is my post in the classifieds. http://www.the370z.com/parts-sale-pr...onator-nc.html |
So the first half came in today. The headers have been delayed just a bit, I should have them early next week. Here's a few pics I took with my iPhone of the carbon fiber muffler, it's super sexy. I showed it to my neighbor who's an old school car buff, and he was blown away. His exact words were: "holy ****, I've never seen an exhaust that beautiful before... And the quality is amazing! Who did you say made these again?"
TONY DID! http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...t/acaae567.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...t/f6bc5952.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...t/83aa6cf9.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...t/a2456f58.jpg More to come later on, plus sound clips. I'm debating whether I should through the cube on now and then wait for the headers, or if I should just do it all at once. Sent from my iPizzle using magic and new-fangled science stuff |
Throw them on now. Would like to hear them. The CF looks awesome. Making it hard not to upgrade my order!!!!

I'm #527 woohoot.... sooo glad I went with Carbon Fiber!!!! THANKS HUCK FOR POSTING PICS!!! REPS TO YOU@!

Now here's my next problem: where to put the Fast Intentions sticker he sent me? My car is PW, so somewhere on the glass. I'm thinking maybe centered at the bottom of the rear windshield? Or maybe on the middle brake light strip, so that when I hit the brakes at night it stands out? Can't decide... I WAS gonna do it on the bottom of my driver side door... Congrats on the NEW FI's Huck

Thanks Trips!

Ok, so for everyone who was asking me to install the exhaust, I did. It took me about an hour to get done, and that was with a little hang up with using the wrong bolts in the wrong spots. Who ever had the car before me had the same exact exhaust I think, because the EVAP cover was already gone, and the heat shield was already bent back enough to fit the muffler. This really makes me wonder who had my car before me, and if they were one this site at one point. How awesome would that be? Anyway, I digress...
It was dark by the time I got everything finished up, so I don't have pics for you today. Instead, I took this nifty video with my iPhone. I'm not good at reviews, but a quick summation would be this: BUY IT. If you're not sure about this exhaust, BUY IT ANYWAY. First, the customer service was amazing. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Tony is the man. Easiest person ever to work with, very informed, very professional, very courteous. Second, the quality of the product is amazing. I have had a few exhausts in my time, from custom to brand name, and this is by far the best one I've ever seen. It looks beautiful. The carbon fiber is beautiful. The welds are perfect. Everything about this exhaust is perfect. Third, the install is easy. The instructions are clear, concise, and simple. Again, I have a fair amount of mechanical skill, nothing too major, and this was very easy to do. Fourth, the packaging was great. You can tell that someone cares about their product and workmanship when they package something so that it could fall out of a plane at 10,000 feet and be fine. There was a crapload of bubble wrap, and everything came out in pristine condition, not one scratch on it. Fifth, THE SOUND. Holy hell, it sounds deep and smooth. That's the only way I can think of to describe it. No rasp whatsoever, no drone, just smooth sexiness all the way to the redline. I'll leave you with this little video to watch, don't know how good it will sound on the computer, I've yet to watch it on mine. Tomorrow I'm borrowing my friend's Zoom hi def sound recorder and get some passes and in-car recordings. Until then... |
^^^^ ROFL at the pansy remark in the video about switching from a 12" res to a 18"... I know that was aimed at me. :) :roflpuke2:
PS: I work out of my car and I am on the phone all day. Being able to talk on the phone to clients is somewhat difficult with the drone of the 12". If it wasn't for that I would have the non-res. |
