Lol I meant no offense, I was just joking around, but actually I've heard that a few times. When I was on the phone with Tony he said that a lot of people will order non-res'd and then send it right back to him to put resonators on it because it's too loud or drony for them. To each his own, I in no way judge peoples personal tastes  I just like to joke and tease a lot.
Side note: I'm working on putting some video clips together right now to give a better example of the sound, I had a buddy help me out with the recording so I think I have some good material. I'll try to edit it and get it up on youtube as fast as I can. Hope you all like it! |
Here's a better video, had a friend help me.

Huck! 2 hours for the pulley??? I don't even think about installing it by myself. Lol! Do u have to angle when installing or something like that?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Got mine installed today at P Tuning and a dyno pull. Sounds great but the high heat and humidity sapped my peak power. It's at least 10 degrees hotter and much more humid than last time.

No not really, it's just that I really went slow to make sure I didn't mess anything up. I took my bumper off even though you don't have to. The basic steps are:
1. Take off your radiator reservoir. 2. Take off your radiator fan assembly 3. Use a 3/8 ratchet with an extender on the handle for more leverage on the tensioner 4. Put a pry bar in the oem pulley to keep it from turning 5. Loosen crank pulley bolt and remove pulley 6. Install new one and tighten to 33 ft/lbs. 7. Release tensioner and check that the belt is sitting correctly in all the pulley grooves. 8. Replace radiator fan assembly and fluid reservoir, then bumper. 9. Double check all tubes, hoses, wire connectors etc are reattached 10. Drive it like you stole it. If anyone has another questions you can pm me. Here's some pics of the exhaust... http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...t/18051e80.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...t/60d8a3fc.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...t/f8e3d8ee.jpg Again all these pics are from my iPhone, sorry for the quality. Good Luck - sound is so sweet and deep and mellow... Darkpath |
Just wondering, is there a sonic difference between the stainless steel mufflers and the carbon fiber mufflers guys?
|
Yes there is, the carbon sounds (IMO) slightly better. The carbon allows more sound through, and sounds slightly meaner. I love it.

Same here! For me and a lot of clips on utube. My carbon sound deeper. And I got test pipe from tony too. Really loud. But awesome. So smooth and deep. Additional 250 (not sure if how much really! Lol!) for carbon is worthy.

And of course lighter and for me. For additional couple of hundreds for the weight and look. Still worthy.

and me and chris sold you all on the carbon fiber lol :p
|
Looks wise do you think the carbon fiber looks better? I kind of think the SS has an edge on looks, just me...
|
My old G37 had the first set of F.I carbon cans... ever! :p

Freer flow is of course a given, so HP and TQ is the same. Weight wise, you're saving a few pounds over the SS system, but in all reality, when you're already dropping 40+ pounds vs the stock system, 1-2 for the CF isn't really going to matter unless you're worried about if your GF can fit or not... :ugh2: Quote:
The SS mufflers look just as good though, I love them on my black Z especially after Mothers wipe down to clean off the road grime, they just glisten under that bumper saying, "No, I am not stock you derp. lulz." |
