Good looking out Darkpath!!! I'm in Florida so I'm definitely not the one with an appointment with Tony. LOL..I will give him a call on Monday just to ensure there isn't a mix up...I know it is no where near time for me to receive my CBE though, my estimated arrival time was August 15-19th I believe. Thanks and enjoy it my friend!!! I'm excited!

Yeah I should be getting mine around the same time, but I've called Tony and left several messages...and no return call back.

P.S. Also just want to remind everyone to be patient (it's hard I know) but after talking to Tony about the last few months we all have no idea how much work he's been doing and how hard it is to move an entire business so please be patient!! It's well worth any wait time I promise! 😃

What is the difference between non-resonated and 12" and 18" ??? Which is louder and deeper?

Resonators work by sound wave cancellation, so the smaller the louder & not at all the loudest. Going through stock cats, the non-res sound great & are not that loud at all. Throw headers or test pipes & you have a different story.

Thanks! whats the different sound between CF and SS

Huck 07-11-2012 09:25 AM

Honestly, it's hard to describe, it's something you need to hear in person and if possible, drive each one for a day. The CF gives it a slight bit more of a Lamborghini kind of sound, where the stainless steel is just low and muffled and sexy.

I have been debating between CF and SS. I even talked to Tony a couple weeks ago to see about changing my order to CF cans. From him he stated that it does change the sound just a little to make it a little more "exotic" if you will. It just gives a slightly different note. But the SS cans give you that patented Fast Intentions note. He basically said if I was on the fence to go by looks more than what you think it will sound like as it is all personal preference.

The CF definately looks awesome and if I were going to be adding more CF accents to the exterior of the car I would definately consider them. Also if I were able to hear CF vs SS in person I would better be able to make a decision if I liked one more than the other on sound alone. But unfortunately I have to go by youtube videos as no one around here has Fast Intentions on their Z.

Getting close to getting mine and can't wait :excited:

Anyone noticed a loss of low end power after having the FI CBE installed (no HFC or anything)

Slammed370 07-12-2012 11:46 AM

I already have Berk hfc installed just waiting for exhaust.

are you just asking or comparing notes after you did the install?

jdsuowner 07-12-2012 12:02 PM

Asking, havent had it installed yet

TerribleONE 07-12-2012 12:15 PM

I dont believe you should feel any, at least this was the case with my G37... which obviously is heavier than the Z so any loss of torque would be more evident.

adidas5482 07-12-2012 12:47 PM

The dyno chart shows zero torque loss throughout the entire band

Felix370z 07-13-2012 10:07 AM

Hey guys, I am in the process of ordering the CF CBE from FI. After reading the forums and watching countless videos I am still on the fence on which resonator to get the 12" or the 18". I would like to hear some feed back from some of you who have installed the 12" or 18" rather it be SS or CF thanks. Ive read that the 12" produces little to no drone I was just curious how true this actually is. I do use the car as a daily driver and will probably be leaving the stock cats on for some time. Thanks for the info in advance.

TerribleONE 07-13-2012 10:28 AM

If you plan on keeping the stock cats, and want it louder, but not THAT loud. I would go with the 12" IMO

Slammed370 07-13-2012 12:29 PM

#535 just got my tracking number will be here next week!!

My Z is my DD right now as well. After talking with Tony and other members here I went with 18". I get the sound I want with no drone. But I am also putting on HFC at the same time.

From my research if you are keeping stock cats go with 12"

If you are putting on TP or HFC go with 18"

Only 5 more to go til I get mine :excited:

i DD my Z and i went Non-Res TP and CBE and love it. it is pretty loud lol but honestly drone is minimal. there is some but really the z is a pretty noisy car in the cabin stock. it isnt loud enough to bother me so it may be personal preference. i got almost 7k miles with mine on and i still absolutely love it every time i start up my car

Felix370z 07-13-2012 01:29 PM

Thanks for all of the info guys. Im probably going to go with the 12" Res since I will most likely be keeping the stock cats. The only reason Im planning on keeping stock cats is Id rather not venture out to far and do anything that might possibly throw up red flags and void my warranty. I know the CBE will void the warranty on the exhaust but if I ever have any issues with the car it wont be that hard to throw the stock exhaust back on. This is also my first Nissan and Im not sure how strict they are going to be about aftermarket parts. Thanks again.

smart idea but i've also heard that some nissan dealerships will still honor a warranty with a aftermarket twin turbo kit as long as they install it. i just wish i remember who told me that lol

Huan'z 07-13-2012 01:49 PM

That's smart. But there's a law that saying as long as the after market part doesn't cause the problem of the damage. Then they still have to honor it right?

i think it depends on the fine print of the particular warranty. i know my friend with a hyundai genesis put a aftermarket exhaust on and his warranty is still good.

also i got pulled over the other day for my F.I. exhaust lol dbag cop decided to stop me for having a "modified exhaust" which is illegal in PA. i laughed at him and said "umm is that all? i got things to do."

so for the record the non-res TP and CBE may draw extra po-po attention since the volume is a bit loud and the looks of this sexy exhaust draws em in too lol i wouldnt have any other exhaust though. F.I. all the way

I do know that any part on a vehicle that is replaced with an aftermarket part is not covered under the manufacturer warranty once replaced. If you were to have issues with your vehicle lets say with the transmission and brought it into the dealership they would have to prove that whatever aftermarket parts you had on at the time actually caused the transmission problems. They must have proof that the aftermarket parts actually caused damage to the vehicle before they can void your warranty. But this a dealersip we are talking about and all are different, Im sure they will most likely find some kind of way to void the warranty if they want to.

Huck 07-13-2012 05:38 PM

Google magnusson-moss warranty act. Basically what the guy above me said, they have to prove that the aftermarket part caused the damage. If you get a new exhaust and your wheel falls off, your warranty stands. If you get a short shifter and your tranny facks up, you may be SOL.

Back on topic guys!

Felix370z 07-13-2012 08:15 PM

So Im leaning more towards the 12" resonators. Anyone else running the 12"s or 18"s on stock cats have any more info about cabin noise or drone? Thanks.
