Time will answer your question body. Mine was 11k-13k (over a year) already. But seem to be fine and luckily no problem.

Think I might "pony-up."

Have a few questions I'd like to ask. First off, does anyone know how far out FI is in delivering orders at this point? And second, how much of a deposit were you folks initially putting down to get your names on the FI list? Finally, is anyone having to change their "Zs" programming/fueling after installing? My car is stock other than having the Injex intake system, along with a nice stereo upgrade and completely Dynamatting the entire car in hopes of quelling some of the voracious tire noise..... Still going deaf from driving it when the roads are cold.
Have about 4 months before I'll have the car back out and am thinking I can afford to put a deposit down for this system.
By the way, hope everyone is or had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday...
Pat.

mdxj 11-22-2012 07:01 PM

I put down around $300 and placed the order in the middle of aug.

Pat C. 11-22-2012 07:12 PM

Thanks. Will see if they're open tomorrow...
Pat

mdxj 11-22-2012 07:17 PM

1. Turnaround is seemingly around < 3 months. With the summer move, production was slowed down a bit, and with the holiday season and time off coming up, expect a temporary delay.

2. From the OP:

Quote:

Layaway & payment plans

Here is how it works,

-All we require is 25% down (Non Refundable)
-From the day the exhaust is purchased you have 90 days(3 months) to pay it off.
-We encourage you to split the remaining balance evenly over the 3 months but it is not a requirement.
-If down the line you decide you cannot afford or do not want the exhaust system, you WILL NOT be held liable on the remaining balance. However you WILL NOT receive a refund on any previous payment.
-All payments are NON REFUNDABLE!
-You cannot downgrade once your original order is placed, only upgrade.
-There is no interest on your balance!
-Your exhaust will not ship until the balance is paid in full!
-There is no pre payment penalty!

We like to think of this as our way to make purchasing for our customers a little easier during these economic times.

Keep in mind, this is designed for the consumer that can and needs time to save up the funds in order to get this exhaust. This is not for everyone!
3. No tuning is required for just an exhaust or HFC/(R)TP/LTH install. It would help, but is not required. If anything, a simple negative terminal Soft ECU reset would work just fine.

Hope that helps. :tiphat: But if you have any questions at all, you can always call Tony. He will help you decide the best route to go, even if it's not with F.I. products.

Pat,

Thank you for taking an interest in our products. Given your timeline and our ordering process, things should align perfectly. All we require is a $300 down payment. I will not charge you the remaining balance until your exhaust is built and ready to ship. As of right now I am projecting we are 10-12 weeks out worst case. Usually we can ship right around the first week of your shipping window and sometimes sooner.

A re tune is not required once the exhaust is installed but it will not hurt. As for ordering the best way is to call me directly. I will not be back in the office until Monday however you are more than welcome to call me on my cell. (818) 585-1322

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks, Tony

I did not know that I had a missed call from you. What's up?

Yeah, I gave you a call but you had an inspector or some official on the other line and couldn't talk. So I left you a voicemail. :icon17:

It's no biggie, I was just going to ask you about getting a replacement set of cans only. One of mine got dings up pretty bad when I slid off the road and a local member has a set here he's looking to sell. And I wanted to ask you about the difference between my setup (version 1) and these cans (version 2) if they would still work with my midpipe.

Or how much could you offer me a set of rear cans only for in either CF or SS.

:tiphat:

NeverBoneStck 11-23-2012 01:36 AM

Tony , u are alive . Please answer my pm ..

What's the current price tag on this CBE? Which seems to be so popular with the community... lol

Depends on what options you want, prices can be found on their website or by calling Tony.

Are you looking for HFC's, Test pipes, Headers or CBE only?

For CBE, are you looking for Non-Resonated, 12" or 18" resonators, and SS or CF cans?

Luckily they have a website:

Fast Intentions

;)

Pat C. 11-23-2012 07:31 PM

Appreciate the inputs..

Tony and everyone else. Feel much better now about not having to deal with possibly having to retune my Z. Will try to remember to give you a call on Monday... Need to see what shipping alternatives I have to my location...
Pat

dmhenderson 11-25-2012 11:55 AM

Should probably note that if you're putting cats on the car along with your exhaust, you're going to need a tune or you will get horrible low-end torque. If you're just doing the CBE, you probably don't need it but like Tony said, it couldn't hurt.

I deleted my cats with test pipes and I don't lose any low torque or need a tune

dmhenderson 11-25-2012 06:05 PM

That's odd. The reduced pressure from the larger cats should have a negative effect at the very least, shouldn't it?

Ok yeah, I have Stillen G3s. That explains it.

dmhenderson 11-26-2012 11:56 AM

Had to move my install/tune appt to next Monday due to weather in the area and it looks like I lost a day on my delivery time due to the holiday. Tuner is going on vacation Wed-Fri :(

ya i just got my akuma intakes on my car and just with a small tune from jogn there my car has been running great even with the colder weather. in spring though i would like to get a full tune. i'm atleast gonna do a few dyno pulls to see where i'm at.

dmhenderson 11-26-2012 11:59 AM

The difference in the cold between my base w/o intakes and the nismo with the G3s is night and day.

dmhenderson 11-26-2012 12:01 PM

I'm going to drop the car off at the shop at ~10am on Monday and go fart around Fair Oaks mall for a while or something then come back for the dyno pull(s) and tune.

yea a tune will help bu like tony even said just exhaust doesnt require one. i ran for about 12500 miles with my CBE and TPs and never had one problem without a tune.

JungleZ 11-26-2012 01:44 PM

Install set for tomorrow at Tony's shop!

Chemy 11-26-2012 02:15 PM
