Tony recommended something simple to keep it clean and shiny. Windex.

LakeShow 11-16-2012 12:32 AM

How about some stains that won't come off solely with water and soap?

Not trying to derail but what's a good wheel cleaner for painted/powdered wheels?

I was using iron cut before but I'm assuming that's not a good idea now that the wheels are powdered/clear coated.

For now, "Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish". We are working on releasing our own line after the 1st of the year.

Kicking around the idea of calling it FAST WAX, or something along those lines.

Thanks, Tony

Talked to Tony this morning, my system is shipping out Monday! :bowrofl:

dmhenderson 11-16-2012 01:27 PM

So yeah I'd be Wed like he said - that tracks. Any idea how he ships? Assuming ground or something? Trying to schedule my install/dyno/tune.

Ground, probably UPS. Being in Portland, Oregon shipping Monday will arrive next Friday, would of been Thursday, (Thanksgiving).

Well since the shop decided to destroy Tony's beautiful exhaust today as well as try to rip the front end off my car I am back on the waiting list. Don't get too sad I still get to listen to the beautiful tunes of the Fast Intentions exhaust. Just dont get behind my car and look at the cans. They are dented and rashed.:shakes head:

JungleZ 11-16-2012 06:36 PM

I might be the only guy on here getting this exhaust on a leased car, At least ill enjoy it for 2 and a half years.

I have been dying to get my hands on the Fast Intenions 18" CF exhaust and I finally have!! I've never actually heard it in person but from speaking to Tony, some YouTube videos which actually do the exhaust no justice whatsoever, and from what I've heard from members, I concluded that this is the ideal and best setup.

They put the car up on the lift, installed the system and lowered it back down then started it up for the first time. OH MY, what a sound!! When the tech started it, I had the stupidest grin on my face because I was just taken away by the sound. Just goes to show you how terrible the stock system is, if you own a Z and have the stock exhaust your missing out on a whole new experience. From what I've heard and seen, F.I. is by far the best sounding system out there in terms of sound/performance/appearance/craftsmanship.

From the time I got in my car after the install until I got to my house, I still had the stupidest grin on my face from symphony of the exhaust. Initially when I started her up it sounded so aggressive. When I left the shop, on the drive home I decided to make use of the paddle shifters as I have a 7AT. I kid you not, I was coming to a stoplight where a group of about 3-4 people were casually walking, and the 3rd to 2nd gear downshift scared the hell out of them lol, they stopped walking and turned around and stared at me haha. Let me tell you, Imo one of the most epic things about this system are the downshifts.

All in all I couldn't have been anymore satisfied with the product. It just produces such a beautiful sound that is second to none. It is not obtrusively and annoyingly loud, but rather a smooth and deep exotic type sound. The CF cans I love, look great and sound great. The techs who installed them were loving the CF mufflers and complenting them.

If you are looking for an exhaust and you haven't at least inquired or thought about Fast Intentions or at least give Tony a call, your making a mistake I may tell you. I'm very extremely pleased with the setup, it is better than I expected it to be. I find myself jamming the throttle and cracking my windows open in the 40 degree weather here more often just to hear the noise! Thanks Tony very much for the communication and help, I really appreciate it.

Sorry my car is very dirty...

I mean it definitely will be louder than the 18", depends what your looking for though. 18" I thought was going to be fairly quiet, but it's actually has a perfect balance of loudness to it. I think personally 12" would be a little bit louder than I would've liked.
But it's up to you, all I can tell you is 18" is loud enough IMO. The thing that sucks is to really tell the difference or get a sense of how loud these specific setups are you have to hear it in person. I watched almost every F.I. YouTube video and multiple times I might add, it just doesn't do the exhaust it's justice. I was quite surprised how loud mine was when I heard it.

binary0x01 11-17-2012 09:06 PM

The exhaust sounds better after it breaks in after a few starts and drives... it gets much more even and once everything is warmed up, you just can't help but to bitch slap whoever tries to close the windows...

Hey guys, you really need to get 500+ miles on it & you will see it quite down a lot. So JungleZ, don't panic if it's a little loud at first. I have non-res CF & it has quieted down & smoothed out a lot compared to the first few hundred miles. I was a little concerned at first, but for me it has settled down to a perfect note.

:twocents: YMMV

I agree. I have R HFC and the NR CF. The combination is simply amazing, loud, and exotic - don't know how else to describe it. It pushes you to shift at higher rpms and stay there as long as you can before shifting to the next. It's just wonderful up there. Like I mentioned earlier, 1-4 is the best. I have noticed it starting to tone down, jut a little bit but noticeable. It is loud but not as loud as when I got it installed on day 1. Tony said volume will be reduced by 10% once it settles in. NR is not for everyone but what I do know is that we all changed our driving habits even just by a little bit simply because of the noticeable torque and of course it's amazing sound. :driving:

Assume the shop is paying for the damage? I would lose my Sh*t

BTW Tony, I need to give you a call next week. My credit card was stolen and the number changed so I need to give it to you again prior to shipment.

asdfsammich 11-18-2012 09:21 PM

Hey guys.

Have any of you started out with 12" res on the cbe and stock cats.

Then later down the line changed to 18" res and added res HFC?

If yes, how would you describe the change in volume and tone?

Tapatalk & such etc

So I had my first problem today with my exhaust. 13k miles on it now and the weld on the driver side can gave out where it connects to the hanger. Couple quick welds over the weekend should fix the problem.

What do you mean it gave out? Did your diver side exhaust come loose? While driving or parked?

FPenvy 11-19-2012 08:57 PM

Driver side. The weld on the hanger broke right off. Noticed it yesterday when I heard a vibration when parking in my garage. Couldn't figure it out at first then I saw the broken weld.

henryy370z 11-19-2012 10:20 PM

What the hell were they doing to cause that kind of damage?! I sincerely hope that they are bending over backwards to make this right (and at no charge to you). I think it's time to find a new shop...

yea i have plans to get it re welded before i go to hunting camp friday. it's not really hurting anything right now being separated. just kind of annoying when it vibrates off it self while idling from time to time. idk how that broke though. i have never hit it off of anything must just be normal wear?
