I think I may do the washer mod on my cans cause the tips sit fairly close to the bumper and I would like a little bit more space in between so I can clean them on the top when I wash the car.

Mine are near perfect. I had to go back and add 3 washers per bolt on each side to get them off the diffuser. Still a tight fit but able to get a mitt and towel on top of them now to clean them. I did that during the swift spring install so two birds with one stone

I have the 18" Resonated CBE and Resonated High Flow Cats (all FI), but still, at cold start-up it shakes the whole house and I'm sure my neighbors can hear it nice and loud... however, once the RPM's drop (30 seconds later?) the sound is still deep and rumbly but a lot less noisy. I usually do creep out of my subdivision in first gear at low rpm's to keep the noise down. Once warmed up though, the exhaust is at a perfect note: at idle, you can just hear the deep rumble, but when I put my foot in it, it sounds ."..like a Ferrarri..." (I'm told - not making this up!). So, my advice is - be patient, it'll get there. Now a small caveat: not sure about the Carbon Canisters if they are louder than the stainless, but I'm sure that there shouldn't be that much dffference. Are you still on your stock cats by the way?

Hey! I'm syoll on my stock cats and plan 2 stick with them lol. But i think u were right...either i hav gotten use 2 the sound or they hav "calmed down" a bit;) i love the throaty sound. Well worth every penny! I plan 2 get it realigned 2morrow so the canisters r even. Thanks bunches for ur input! I soooo luv my Z...it sits jus right and sounds jus right!

Question on the FI CBE. I have the SS 18" Res on order with HFC's. If I decided down the road to go 12" res or non-res, how much hassle is it? Curious on what would need to be replaced.

Thanks!

Tony explained to me that it is easier going from Non-res to 12 to 18 because you just have to cut out material & put the resonators in. The reverse of that is going to cause someone to weld in extentions to the pipes. It will not look as clean either due to the patch work.

I got the 18" res, will it break in and be less loud? I'd love for it to be a bit less loud. Does it level out with a bit of driving?

Let me know tnx fellas.

Btw, Sebastian and Specialty Z does awesome work. Highly Recommended.

Can you post pics of this setup please? I'd like to do this during the initial install. Also, I'm drawing a blank... will the tips be resting on the diffuser on the Nismo back end, as well? I can't think of what the base rear diffuser looks like in comparison.

Thanks in advance!

When i placed my order and talked to Tony, he said the resonators are really made for cutting down drone in the interior.

Yep, that's my understanding too. They don't have much impact on the sound outside of the car. I know some people want to hear it more inside the car. I have the 12s and the little drone I get doesn't both me at all. It just makes me want to drive faster. :D

That makes two of us FP, cause I have non res with the headers and it wasn't as loud as I was expecting to be. There was a little drone at 2300rpm so I put that GTmat in the hatch and that fixed it right up.

I have a buddy with a lift in his garage that will let me do the install when my exhaust arrives. Question is, will the boxes(s) it ships in fir in the 370?

i just have TPs but i wouldnt mind having the headers lol just didnt have the cash to spend at the time. $275 vs. $1200 is a big difference.

the drone doesnt bother me really and if i knew that the sound note quality wouldnt change too much id cut my mufflers and run straight tails :stirthepot:

Agreed. You could fit the muffler box in the hatch and tie the hatch down, but the headers wouldn't fit in with the cat back. One or the other.

I was able to put all components of the CBE in the back of the Z (EDIT: I did not take the Cargo Cover out it seems - it just fit fine with it still installed), and I put the HFC's on the Passenger side foot well. See pics at :

After driving the car for 2 hours straight after install, the sound is much smoother now, with way less reverberation inside (which is what bothered me).

It is really fun, the whole car opened up, love it :)

Mine came in just 1 box. I unboxed it and the whole exhaust fit in my car. I made a 75 mile trip with the exhaust in my car and everything was perfectly fine. There is enough bubble wrap not to scratch anything in your car also!

Assuming you can't fit a passenger in the car with the extra exhaust in it, right?

If you only have the CBE, it should all fit under the hatch, in which case you can carry a passenger. However, if you are also carrying the HFC's then they will have to sit in the passenger footwell, so no passenger then!
