Hope all is well with everyone; not a secret, we are just keeping very busy in the shop.

The latest exhaust system that we are shipping today is #1206. An updated forum list is coming soon.

Thank you all for your business and patience. :tiphat:

Thanks Kevin, I meant secrete in a funny way... I've been waiting list also and it's good to know the wait is worth all the good comments people say about your system. The bad thing about my wait is it was in the middle of the summer but I went back and forth making a decision otherwise I'd have it allready. If your thinking about it just send the man the deposit and wait. FYI fellas I'm 1222.

Seriously?! A 3 month wait for an exhaust? I was sold on this exhaust until I read that. The season will be over before I even see it. I'm sure these systems are amazingly well built and all, but 3 months is a little crazy.

cooltoy 08-08-2015 09:25 AM

You probably eat fast food only.

Can't even remember the last time I ate fast food. We have a big garden in our backyard and I hunt so we almost always have meat in the freezer. Not to mention we live close to farms so when I do need to buy meat it's local and fresh. In fact, I probably eat a lot healthier than you do if you buy your sh!t at the grocery store lol.

I waited 2 months for an HKS exhaust with my old 350z while it was on back-order. Chances are I'll still likely end up going with FI since it is a high quality piece and more importantly the customer service at FI is well above average. Just sucks waiting that long.

cooltoy 08-08-2015 11:03 AM

Maybe look at buying a lightly used one, then you can get it right away. There have been quite a few pop up in the For Sale section lately.

The season is never over and it takes time to be great. I think it's worth the wait with so many positive comments but yeah there are other exhaust out there.. Good luck.

Elmo370z 08-10-2015 07:21 AM

I waited 4 months for mine, it's 96% done. Damn demon bolt.1190

I picked up mine in the classifieds section. They pop up from time to time so maybe check there first. You can always order it when Winter starts and it will arrive in time for Spring.

To be fair, each component of the exhaust is hand built and they are built to order. They only have about a hand count of employees working at their facility. Since each part is also welded by hand and not machine, they make sure the quality of the welds are 100%. It takes about a week to fully build the exhaust system. They have a lot of orders on waiting to be completed, hell even waiting to get started.

Does the wait suck? Yes it does but is it worth a great sounding product? Once again, yes.

It's also just an estimated date. It could be a lot shorter than that period.

Zerocool 08-10-2015 10:46 PM

I believe my number is 1275.

Install went smooth, package delivered in a professional manner. People were right video sound clips do it no . justice. I paired my 12in resonators with non res test pipes. Couple things suggest is pb blast the bolts the night before including test pipe bolts. I won't get into much detail about the test pipes, but i didn't need to disassemble the steering shaft to access the top driver side test pipe bolt. 1/2 inch extension (24-30inch) , 1/2in rachchet, 14mm impact swivel socket, and a breaker bar will do the trick. O and use all 6 point sockets for all bolts. No CEL light. Part number #1190

Elmo370z 08-12-2015 12:07 AM

Right as i finished my install

peterc05 08-15-2015 09:52 PM

Thanks Fast Intentions for the awesome exhaust!

#1200 was installed yesterday and this thing sounds awesome. The exhaust also looks amazing and the installation went smooth and everything fit perfectly! The drive home was so fun.

The axle-back portion of the FI system is $600 + ship.

I know because both my exhaust cans have holes in them.
AND IM AT OEM HEIGHT.

Do you have pictures of this? It looks like the cans hang pretty low, but FI says same as the stock exhaust tubes in that area. I'd hate to drop $1300 on an exhaust that could be easily damaged at OEM ride height! Sounds amazing though.

cooltoy 08-26-2015 12:18 PM

It is the same height as the lowest point on the stock Z. No issues at stock height unless you decide to go curb jumping or something silly like that. Take speed bumps at angles to protect your front bumper and you will not have problems with the exhaust. Mine has been on for two years without an issue.

TBatt 08-26-2015 02:24 PM

Ordered my FI CBE today. It should be here around the first of December so I'm getting a really nice Christmas present!

The fact that the waiting list is so long just goes to show you how in demand these are and therefore should be well worth the wait. Quality does take longer and my Z deserves Z-best!

You wont have any issues. The gen 1 system required you to be a bit more careful but with the gen 2 its not that low at all especially at stock height.

Mysilverz 08-27-2015 01:07 AM

Yeah mines coming in November.

From pussy cat to lion!

Just got my F.I. Non Resinated installed on 8-24-15. Oh my god, this thing has my car sounding like a beast and I can feel it pulling harder too. Great product and great customer service. It was a pleasure dealing with Kevin. I'll talk to you soon for the SZ clutch and fly wheel upgrade. I was #1211 by the way.

Thanks for the info, I did not realize there was a gen 1 and gen 2 system. So did the can shape change for gen 2 or some other layout/angle change? I'd be curious to see pictures gen 1 vs. 2.

Leroydsouza 08-27-2015 07:04 AM

There is no difference. The gen 1 was only a little lower compared to gen 2. Not visible really but effective at not scraping the cans

BlackZeda 08-27-2015 08:05 AM

#1215 just arrived yesterday!

Just a slight change to the pipes going into the mufflers.

Need some advise. Installed FI exhaust today and the tips are not completely even. The driver sticks out about 1/4 to 1/2 more than the passenger side. How do you get it to be even because it seems pretty rigid. I remember seeing a few post but cant really find the answer I need. Help because the car is up on stands and today is perfect to get this out and see how they sound.

NoHyperbole 09-06-2015 11:18 AM

Just use a couple gaskets.

4TthAnnyZ 09-06-2015 01:06 PM

Pretty common for most systems. I just adjusted the hangers and used the washers on the drivers side. After the carbon splitter, everything looks normal

It's fortuitous that I happened to read this now. I had the same issue, except the passenger side exhaust tip protruded a bit more on mine. The solution is to use two or even three gaskets where the muffler section connects to the resonator section. I believe using more than three gaskets is not recommended. This will push the shorter side out to match the length of the other side.

I must also add that I used the Fast Intentions 2.5-inch, 3-bolt metal gaskets (Fast Intentions). I am hopeful you have access to those, as I'm not sure if it is proper to use two or three gaskets of some other type or to mix types of gaskets. Perhaps someone else can add some insight.

I am going to reach out to FI for some of the 3-bolt metal gaskets. I think that may work. As for not being totally centered I pulled hard on one side and pushed on the other side to try and get it to line up close to each other and its not too bad. Trying to get it perfect because after this long wait it should be. Thanks for the input, don't look like to many people are DIY out there.

TBatt 09-10-2015 12:32 PM

Professional Quality FI recording

After I get my CBE installed I'll make a high quality audio/video of the system. I'm a professional recording engineer and have some very good microphones and recording gear. That along with our HD cameras I should be able to put a really accurate sound on a YouTube video. With the current wait it will be after the first of the year before I can do this. December is crazy for me with all of the concerts that will be going on anyway.
