Just that, unbolt the hangers with the exhaust and then move the hangers.
|
So a friend of mine Dynoed his stock 370 yesterday and got between 273-278 between his three pills. I ran mine with just the stillen gen 3 intake and the fast intentions catback exhaust. I Dynoed between 300-306.6 Hp. So around a 28 whp gain from stock. The majority of the power came from the exhaust. Just thought I'd post and let everyone know. Ill post the graph in a bit.

Nice gains for 2 relatively simple bolt-ons!

I called FI last Friday and they told me my exhaust was to be made this week so there is a good chance that Santa will deliver it just in time. I hope it will fit under the tree, no seriously, I'm going to put it under the tree. What could be better than to wake up Christmas morning and find a FI CBE? What? :happydance:

its been awhile since iv been on this thread, well yesterday i heard a rear clanking noise and it turns out one of my exhaust hangers broke off, looks like the weld wasnt strong enough so i have to get it rewelded. Im not to sure if fast intentions has resolved this issue but i remember happening to someone else back in 2012.

For the future, if one of our welds break, give us a call prior to getting it repaired. thanks. -Tony |

So I have FI resonated test pipes and catback (w/ 18" resonators). I've been thinking of getting a Stillen Gen 3 intake (or maybe the new Z1 intake).
How vital is a tune with all three mods? I live in Iowa, and there are pretty much no 370Z-experienced tuners nearby. I've considered doing the ECUTek eTune option (and may consider doing it at some point), but I'd much rather have a tune done in person. |
I currently have the stillen gen3 intake and the fast intentions CBE on my car. In two weeks im installing my non resonated test pipes and dynoing the car to see both the power gain as well as the a/f ratio. Ill make sure to post them to give you an idea about how nessacery a tune will be.

I just got a UPS notification that my exhaust will be delivered on the 23rd! Just in time to put under the tree!!:happydance:
I'm planning on doing the install the week between Christmas and New Year. A good friend is coming over to help with the exhaust, sway bars, rear Fog light and backup camera installs. Dang, I hope I have enough beer.:yum: After the first of the year I will start working on the video/sound clips using my high end recording gear. The plan is to measure the sound level stock with a calibrated sound level meter and then do the same with the new exhaust (stock CATs). I don't see any point of recording the stock system as we all know what it sounds like. #1284...............finally! Thanks Fast Intentions!!!! |

for u guys that installed this urselves..there is an 8 stall lift garage for the DIYS, $25 hour, 3 hour minimum,,,,they even loan tools..is it better to do this than under a car on ur back
#1303 next 2-3 weeks |
This was the simplest easiest bolt on I've done to my car. Once you get it up high on four jackstands it's a cake walk. Jacking the car up is literally the hardest part of the install.

Glad to hear from you. I hope you're enjoying your exhaust system and long tube headers. There is no need to worry; we use 304 stainless steel in building our exhaust components. 304 stainless is proven to resist rust due to the chromium and nickel properties within the metal. It's quite possible that you are noticing road debris sediments that can sometimes build up on the metal while driving. When you have a moment, please send an email to kevin@fastintentions.com with pictures so that I can see what you're referring to. Thank you & Happy Holidays! - Kevin |

There it is. Loved the exhaust, super easy install. I did not use air tools and it took me about 2 hours. No, I did not put it under the tree, but I slept with it after that 4 month wait. Thank you for everything Kevin, I never talked to Tony, but thank you too Tony!!! lol. Next will be the long tube headers, but that has to wait little bit. I know my car is dirty, there is construction where I work. |
