I agree! I purchased my exhaust and RHFC together but only installed the exhaust first. To gauge the volume level which was loud at the time but the tone got more quiet over time. I will be installing my RHFCs shortly.

Mine (18-inch resonsators) became quieter after 220 miles, and it was very noticeable. I actually think it's too quiet now, especially at warm idle and just cruising around, but it certainly wakes up when the car is driven aggressively.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I have the 18" resonated and also the resonated Test Pipes. They've been on the car for a couple hundred miles now. They've quieted down, almost to the point where their too quiet. When I drive aggressively it sounds great, though.

I might look into switching out the 18" resonators with either 12" or non-res at some point, but for now I'll just leave it.

James10694 07-02-2015 04:45 AM

I have the 12 inch resonators and long tubes. Im swapping out to non res

ColemanLee09 07-02-2015 09:29 PM

Cant wait to receive mine! Went with the CF Non-Res. Still debating wether I want to change it to the 12" Res. Ordered Mid June, Est. Mid Oct delivery.

I'll put up videos when I get mine installed (I'm in Shipping window currently & ordered NonRes CF) and do a review as well within a week (since I drive approx. 400mi every 10 days or so).

jchammond 07-03-2015 03:28 AM

I'm interested in the 18" res.
I'm all about staying quiet & not calling the police.....are they really that quiet? & is there any difference in performance to stock? Ty.

Fast Intentions

Everything you need is on the product page. I have the 18" res paired up to stock cats. I was all about staying under the radar while getting that distinct VQ sound and this exhaust does that. It's actually quieter than I thought it would be so I'm considering some res. HFCs down the line.

Thank you for taking an interest in our products. The answer to both of your questions is YES and YES. The 18" resonated is the way to go if you are looking to enhance the performance, give the car a smooth and crisp growl while keeping the interior noise resonance to a minimum at cruising speeds.

If you have any questions on any of this or would like to place an order, please feel free to give us a call.

Thank you.
-Tony

Dynos are on the FI website. 20HP over stock.

Definitely louder then stock (which is basically 0 on the noise level). But not loud enough to attract police attention. There is hardly any sound at warm idle, but it wakes up under acceleration.

How does the long tube headers affect the tuning of the Z ? i know the ecm uses the o2 sensors to help calibrate air/fuel mixture.
Do the cars have a lot of gaseous fumes coming from tips?
just wondering,,,thinking about opening on up-for maximum flow.
hopefully the 18" res. will tone it down a bit.

I have the LTH and 12" resonators, when I had my Z tuned it was running lean. It is recommended that you have your care tuned with headers but not necessary. There is an unburned fuel smell with this setup but its not as bad as a test pipe combo. For noise level I think its perfect, its quiet below 3k and normal driving. Cold starts and driving fast is pretty loud.

How loud would you say it is compared to short tails with a catalytic converter? I want it louder but not full straight pipe loud. Mainly because of all the crazy rasp you get.

Sweet.
Just can't decide between non resonated/high flow cat/z1 headers

Or FI long tube headers/12" resonators

bias aside I would say FI LTH over Z1 if youre doing headers.

Z1 you got $900 in the headers then $250 in TPs you're close to the price almost as the FI LTHs which I think are a better choice for whatever money they cost.

if it were me i'd go LTH/12" res with CF mufflers. seems like a good fit for your taste from what you've listed previously. good power and sound from the LTH plus a bit of cabin reduction with the 12" res and I personally love the CF mufflers. the bit more exotic sound and the look of them just seal the deal.

Completely overlooked the cost factor, definitely worth getting the FI LTH then. Thanks brother :tiphat:

There used to be occasional updates from FI in this thread but it's been awhile since the last one. The best way to keep track is for members to post when they receive their tracking order.

That would be cool if we could get that going once in a while.

We've been keeping extremely busy in the shop these past few months between production work and various Twin Turbo projects.

We are doing our best to ship out #1186-1192 by the end of this week.

Thank you all for your business and patience! :tiphat:

Noop, it is just about perfect. Very exoctic sound when your on it with stock cats. I wish I knew what a non-resonated CBE sounded like with resonated HFC's. Haven't been able to find a video on that.

Elmo370z 07-15-2015 03:00 PM

Im doing 12 inch cat back with non res test pipes, ill post a vid of that if you want
