Right now I have stock cats with no resonators and I have less than 10% drone at cruising speed. It's so low that I do t even notice the sound of the mufflers. If I step on it though, then it wakes up. You can take a look at the YouTube link I posted a few pages ago to my slower drive by, almost no noise at all.

Just watched your vids, thanks for the upload. Your right, there is barely any drone and it doesn't appear to be to loud on the inside of the car either. If that's what no resonators sounds like then Id imagine the 12" res will be perfect for me. Looks like it all boils down to personal preference. Thanks again guys.

For anyone worries about going with test pipes because of state inspection/emissions I just got mine done today and passed with no problem. Tony's exhaust is so good it fools the computers lol

I would caveat this with being an exception, not the rule. There is no guarantee it would pass everywhere, you might wanna add that disclaimer...

:bowrofl:

In Adams county, we don't have to sniff test, so my LTH's are safe. :happydance:

Sniffer tests are pretty much in Cali I think

Ubetit 07-17-2012 08:12 AM

If I ordered today, what number would I be and what number is shipping this week? Doesn't look like the original post has been updated in a while.

Huan'z 07-17-2012 09:33 AM

You would probably be somewhere in the 580's. Z-girl 12 just ordered hers a few weeks ago and she's 577 so use our sporadic posts as a basis.

On a side note, my shipping window is approaching..... #556 in 2-3 weeks :-D

adidas5482 07-17-2012 11:05 AM

I'm #532 and got mine last friday. Waited 3.5 months.

Several people are in or past their shipping window. I think it's safe to say that Tony is running behind. I'm #540 and my shipping window is 7/4-7/24 but I've heard nothing. I'm hoping that Tony or someone from his outfit will update the list soon!!!!!!

I'm #577, I ordered June 18th, my shipping window is September 5-19th. But Tony was very clear on the wait time so I have no issues. Still excited. Berk exhaust was on back order with a 5-8 week wait so I'm totally cool with waiting. Don't want Tony to rush and not produce quality.

Long as you don't WOT next to one you should be fine. All depends on how strict your local law enforcement is on exhaust dB.

That is the setup I have & it's not all that loud with stock cats. It's very nice

:iagree:, but yes you can get pulled over if the officer thinks it's too loud, but just normal driving you will not have that problem

TO ALL-

To say the past few months for us have been tiresome is a severe understatement. The loss of a great friend and then moving an entire business right after really can ware you down.

The good news is, we are getting settled in to the new shop and I am now available for support just like it was before. I am doing my best to get caught up on PM's as well as Email's however it may take me a while.

If you have any questions or would like to place an order, please do not hesitate to call me directly.

Thank you, Tony

ZKdoggZ 07-19-2012 10:28 AM

Welcome back!!! Glad to hear your getting settled in.

Question to Mr. Tony...I have your beautiful catback with 12" resonators, can i swap the resonated mid-section only with a non-res mid-section? A local guy has it and would like the one i have and vice versa. Thanks again. :tiphat:

Absolutely, it is very easy. The swap takes about 30 minutes.

Tony

Yes...I did at first, more because the flow wasn't right and it felt like it would make it sluggish and skip some, but then after getting the HFC's and an uprev tune that went away, which you should do since you are changing the dynamics.

Huck 07-19-2012 09:24 PM

Hey guys! I've been absent more from the forum as of late, been very busy with a wedding and work and trying to install all this stuff on my car. Plus with my new job I can't get on here as much, so that sucks.

Anyway! I'm happy to say that I FINALLY have my headers installed! It was a MAJOR PAIN IN THE AZZ. My case was a little bit special I think, it normally shouldn't be as hard as it was for me. I have learned a couple of things while installing these headers:
1) the Japanese engineer who designed the engine and bay deserves to be dragged out into the street and put to death. There is no room to work at all, no exaggeration I probably completed about half the work by feeling around with my hands. Everything is impossible to get to, and my arms and hands are sliced up from shoving them into small spaces.
2) The guy that had my car before me deserves to be dragged out into the street and put to death. The more I take my car apart, the more I realize he had the SAME EXACT mods as me. Installing my Stillen intakes? The holes are already cut for me. Installing FI CBE? The heat shield is bent back just enough to clear the muffler, and the lines are already wrapped with that heat shield material Tony sends with the package. Installing the FI LTH? The bolts are all stripped and things are in the wrong place.
Why couldn't he have just left everything so I wouldn't have had to do any of this?!

I digress...

So for this install of the headers, 1 bolt on one of the heat shields was stripped, and on the other 2 were stripped. Of course they couldn't be the top ones, nooooooo they had to be in the back and on the bottom. Then, one of the nuts holding the driver side header was stripped, and I had to buy a bold extractor kit to try and get it off. I finally got everything installed and I'm doing the O2 sensors, so I go to get the last one out and it's cross-threaded into the manifold. I finally get it out to find that the threads are shot beyond repair, I need a new one. I googled 370Z O2 sensor, and this forum was the first thing that came up, apparently it's kind of a common problem. I went with RockAuto Auto Parts and got an NKT one next day delivered for less than $170 :excited: Also, another problem I had was with my steering column. I couldn't get the damned thing off to save my life. I had drawn the lines down the column, onto the knuckle, and onto the bracket to keep everything lined up. Well it wouldn't come off, so I hit it with WD-40, then played with it some more. Finally after like 2 hours it came off. So did all my lines. Then it didn't want to go back on, it was so loose that the screw wouldn't catch the other side of the column holder or tighten at all. Again, a few hours later, I finally got it. Now my steering wheel is at a 70* angle. This freaks my car out, and it's showing me the skidding car symbol on the speedo, and the VDC turns itself off cause it doesn't know what the heck is going on :shakes head:

I'm done for the day. Hell, I'm done for a few days. I may just take it to a shop and have them fix the last few problems. Thanks God this is it for engine mods, I don't ever want to use a jack again. Anyway, I'm just glad that it's done, it's running, and that it hasn't blown up yet. I'm hoping to get it Uprev'd in the next week or two, the only day I have off is Mondays, and this Monday I have to go to the DMV to get a temp tag for my truck since someone in my neighborhood called the city to complain about it not having a tag. Fuckin azzholes. But that's another story... Hope you guys enjoyed my novel and these quick vids I took with my iPhone!

Thank you to Tony for an amazing product!! Never have I been so impressed with the quality of a product or the character of a businessman like I have with Tony and his crew.

If you have any questions about the exhaust or anything having to do with Fast Intentions, pm me and I'll be happy to help however I can.:driving:

You think it's tight in our engine bay, try the 300...

Huck 07-19-2012 09:32 PM

Oh yeah, I've seen them and I remember thinking how horrible it would be to have to do anything to that engine. You want to change your air filters? Have fun pulling the engine out!

That sounds awesome, Huck. Sounds mean I like it. Wish mine wasn't my DD. The drone around 2k would kill me. Got my tracking # today. #541 will be shipped tomorrow!! :excited:

Bad news is I will be TDY next week when it comes in so it will have to wait to the following week when I get back. But I will have a present waiting on my return and it will go on ASAP.

You get used to it to where it doesn't even bother you. And most of the time you're only @ 2k going 45mph somewhere with someone slow in front of you, or you're in a 35mph zone in 7th gear. I'll usually throw it into M mode and 5th gear to keep it at 2500rpms when someone's riding with me. No problems.
