Highest HP Gain Volume Sound Fumes Drone/Road Noise Then rank those 1-5. When you know what your preferred ranking is, then we can tell you the best answer. |
Very good answer, Chris!! That might be the simplest (in a good way) and to the point answer I've heard to that question. Bravo!!

Highest HP Gain 5 (HP gain is a plus to me as i feel between the options it's not a huge difference number wise, sound AND fitment are my priority)
Volume 3 (i love a loud exhaust with some great volume as long as it can be controlled- just dont want it obnoxious, id prefer not to have a guaranteed way to wake the neighbors in the morning) Sound 1 (Sound and fitment are my top priorities, i feel the Nismo exhaust i have is too reserved) Fumes 4 (would prefer not to have too much fumes if its very obvious to people around you) Drone/Road Noise 2 (i enjoy hearing the exhaust from the inside just would not prefer too much drone if it's wildly apparent even with normal driving) 1 being the most important Again, i am very grateful to any advice given! |
After reading your answerers you should definitely buy FI CBE.

I would recommend for you the 18" Resonators, and HFC's. I'm recommending HFC's over TPs as you are not looking for the highest HP and do not want fumes, and you also want to mitigate drone. I will leave the option of Carbon Fiber cans over Stainless Steel cans to you as they affect appearance. The benefits of the CF over the SS is a slightly higher "more exotic" sounding exhaust tone, vs the SS which will have a deeper rumble to it. |
Get the Berk HFC they sound alot better than FI when paired with the 18in resonators with SS mufflers, the CF mufflers are louder.

Headers just seem like a nightmare for me in terms of finding a reputable place i could trust for such a difficult looking install. I am already worried about trusting a shop to install HFC/TP's. Again, i super appreciate all the advice so far guys! |
TP will get the back of your car dirty and it may stain the paint if it is not cleaned up properly.

Also keep in mind that Berks have a terrible rep for rasp & burning out, and smelling like rotten eggs. Just my .02 If you're truly looking for more sound then the 300 cell Fast Intentions cats, you can do a 12" resonator or even a Resonator delete on the catback....or do Fast Intentions Resonated TP's(will also gain about 5 more hp over the cats) |
Just ordered my FI Non resonated CBE. Havent gotten my invoice yet so I don't know where I stand with the build order but I know the wait is at least 16 weeks. I know it will be worth it so I am not worried about that.
Does anyone know of a good place to get this system installed in Charlotte, NC? My Z is a 2009 with very low mileage and I want a reliable place that does excellent work. Thanks guys. Really appreciate all the feedback. Really helped me pull the trigger on this system. Can't Wait!!! |
Blake@FI (or any FI guys)
I have a local basically giving away his traditional G37 FI exhaust. Is there any way of making this work on a 370? Mounts the same? Shorten the mid pipe? |

I have no idea where you come up with this you must work for FI. |
Was just thinking it would be cool if fast intentions had a twitter account that you uploaded shop pictures of fabrication or anything else that might be interesting.:ugh2:

With a regular cleaning schedule (as any sports car owner should already have), your rear bumper will not suffer any increase in dirtiness from TP's over HFC's. Especially due to the fact the FI tips stick out ever so slightly past the rear bumper. Also, a good wipe down with Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish will keep the tips themselves clean. If your engine is producing that much carbon, you should take it somewhere and have the tune looked at. As for the header install, it is not for the faint of heart, but it is (and has been) done DIY, so it's not impossible. A TP/HFC install is easier to do in your driveway, provided lifting ability and the right amount of extensions. |
