I am hating UPS right now. Their trailer was delayed last night and now I won't get my exhaust until Monday. I can't even go pick it up . My husband took off work tomorrow & we had a garage lined up that was loaning us their lift. What a waste! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It's a very quite sound, almost sounds like you are running over a seam in the asphalt or cement.

Fast Intentions, Inc.'s Newest Member
Hello Everyone! I wanted to take some time to introduce myself. My name is Kevin, and I am the newest member of Fast Intentions, Inc.
Even though I am the newest guy on Team Fast Intentions, that does not make me the new when it comes to the Nissan 370z community & the VQ37VHR motor. I started out as a customer of Fast Intentions myself many years ago. I bought my TDX exhaust system from them for my 2008 Infiniti G37S coupe, and never imagined back then that I would one day become a part of the team. Recently, Tony/Danny & I reconnected at a local car show in Woodland Hills, CA. We got to talking about their future business direction; they both have a lot of ideas, and needed some help setting things into action. After about 2 months of discussion, Tony/Danny & I came up with a plan. Fast Intentions, Inc. has brought me in to assist, and eventually lead a major role in all Sales/Marketing & day-to-day Business Operations. I'm a true automobile enthusiast, no matter what make or model, but I have always had a soft spot for Nissan/Infiniti, as it was my first project car. I would consider myself well versed when it comes to the Nissan 370z & the VQ37VHR motor. I am very excited to be here and look forward to being able to provide as much support for you guys/gals as possible. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me directly and I will do my best to personally answer. Thank you, - Kevin |
Welcome Kevin, let's hope you will continue the legacy of the type of customer service we are used to with FI.
And feel free to start by commenting on my question above. :p:icon17: |

It's normal, the stock exhaust even does it but it wouldn't be audible from in the car. Bigger exhaust with less restrictions gets you more gurgling between shifts and on deceleration. |
I placed an order about a week or so ago!!! FI Cat back exhaust, along with Berk High Flow cat's ( I like how they have mounting brackets welded on), Stillen gen 3 intake.... Pretty excited.....
Wondering if the Z1 intake plenum upgrade is worth using to complete the project??? |

Thank you for your order. No hard feelings on the HFC order, totally understand your logic. As for the Z1 intake plenum, we do not have any experience with it, though, I have heard good things. It is best to track down other independent consumers that have it and get their feedback. Thanks. -Tony |

No, Tony. It's like a pop pop sound when the refs drop. I am not complaining, just curious. I am ultra sensitive to every sound I guess.
I think R3V answered it. I just did not expect this car to backfire, (or what ever it is). I hear it a lot on loud V8s. |
I've had 2 370's and both had the "pop". I believe one of the improvements Nissan made from 2009 to 2014 was sound proofing. My 2009 NISMO was certainly louder then my 2014. Both had the stock NISMO CBE. I'm putting my FI CBE tomorrow. Will post if it's louder or outside of what I already know as the standard.
|
It's exhaust burble, it means your car is more manly than it used to be. Take it as a badge of honor and learn to enjoy the sound. I'd venture to guess that it's just unburnt fuel being taken care of by the hot pipes.
I get all kinds of fun sounds from my fully open exhaust. |
I guess expectations and reality are two different things. I never read anybody talk about it, so I did not expect it. I thought maybe something was different about mine, maybe I needed a tune or something.
Its all good. I basically went from break in period (never going over 4000 rpm) to the FI and WOT. From never hearing the exhaust et all to lots of sound. It seemed so loud for the first two weeks, the I did not hear anything but the exhaust. Now that is is broken in and much quieter, I hear all the different notes and sounds, so I was just curious. The exhaust almost seems to have a life of its own, as it never exactly sounds the same day to day. It probably has to do with air temperature and ECU adjusting. It's pretty cool. |

F.I. #1025 installed on Darketch's '14 PW Nismo. So delicious. :)

Yep, got 1025 installed. Finally sounds like what I think the car should sound like. After driving around all day I can confirm the pops and burps increase, but nothing that sounds out of ordinary. To each their own, but to me, FI makes the best CBE. THANKS AGAIN!

1024 installed on my 2013 Nismo. Couldn't get a bolt to come off the left cat (It's a CRAZY tight fit with ANY TOOL). Got tired of wrecking my hand trying to get the damn thing off... Just going to pay a shop to put the cat's on! This CBE is AMAZING! Originally had 12" resonators... switched to non res CF... WORTH EVERY PENNY! I did notice my car was running about 5-10 degrees hotter under normal daily load... Any advice besides getting an OIL Cooler? Tune should be at SpecialtyZ here in the next couple of weeks. Maybe they can put my cats on!

Also while on the subject, I'm assuming the FI resonated HFC's would cut down on any drone noise compared to non-resonated HFC's. I already have the 18" resonated CBE, but wouldn't mind it being louder at WOT. Cruising volume is ok to me and I would like to keep it where it is, or maybe just a TAD louder. EDIT: Off topic note. Love the sound of the exhaust when I'm driving in the parking garage at work. Also love the fact that some car alarms will chirp when I drive by  |
