Hi. I’ve acquired some new tailpipes manufactured by a reputable UK company which they’ve been supplying for the 370z for about 7 years. I’ve a 2017 MT. Customer reviews of the pipes are very good. However, reading generally around the subject I’ve seen suggestions that dispensing with the back box/muffler can throw the ECU out and long-term lead to exhaust valves burning out due to the engine running with a consistently lean mixture.
Does this sound at all likely? I’d have thought a modern fuel-injected engine would automatically adjust the mixture to ensure correct petrol/air mix. Any/all responses appreciated. Cheers |
