I did and I personally would/have spent more for a quality one. Yes it costs more but it's worth it, even used. I wanted more in the end than Rev9 can provide as far as a quality tone and exotic sound, unless you want ear bleeding of non-res tps and tomei or something.

Depending on your needs or situation there is nothing wrong with Rev9, it beats stock most definitely.

You can look up other brands of the same exhaust. They are all clones. I think some are DNA motoring, Spec-D, Beluga Racing and a bunch of others.

I spoke to a local shop in my area that was selling the exhaust and asked them their opinion on it. I was told it is an "okay" exhaust in terms of if you want an exhaust upgrade on a budget. Fitment will only get to 95%-ish in terms of perfect alignment.

I see you're out in Vancouver, so you might not have an issue, but the shop told me one of their customers ran the Rev9 exhaust all winter here in the Toronto area without washing their car once and the pipes had rusted through. I guess the quality of the stainless in these systems is a hit or miss.

They're all similar but some vary in resonator bracing and mid-pipe. Some are H-pipe and some are X-pipe. The Rev9 uses literally the same grade steel as "name brand" exhausts, don't know about the others.

I have the Rev9. I could take or leave it to be honest. At WOT it sound awesome, it has a sweet metallic howl to it that I can't get enough of, I'd even argue slightly exotic sounding. But I'd like something quieter around town, it can be a bit boomy.

The fitment was about 95% as mini_cal said. For $500 USD you can buy the system AND get it modified to fit perfectly, and installed. You'll be spending double for anything else, and triple for anything "better". In the end, it's just piping and you may like it.

If you don't have the budget to try it and then get something else, I'd just get that something else. Or just have something custom made if you have a reputable shop near you. I'm surprised more people on here don't got that route. It's just as high quality and more affordable than paying for a brand name.

I currently have the dna motoring version of this exhaust and it did exactly what I wanted it to do. Woke up my Z and gave me a much better sound than the stock exhaust.

The sound started off really nice with hardly any drone. Now I’ve had it for several months and the sound has changed some. Inside the cab it drones very badly now and I hear all sorts of rattles from interior pieces. Under deceleration I get the hiss but also anything around 3k rpms makes this weird sound that’s hard to explain. It’s a hollow echo sound that I think sounds horrible but it’s only at 3k rpms almost exactly.

Fitment was as expected for an exhaust at this price. Everything lined up and bolted right into the stock locations but one exhaust tip sat about an inch and a half lower and about an inch back. The tips are adjustable so it was easy to even out the depth but I had to use a hose clamp to compress the rubber exhaust hanger to tuck it up evenly with the other side.

It’s not a bad exhaust for the money. If you’re on a budget like I was then you’ll be very happy with the sound change over stock. I’m currently saving up for a real quality exhaust but I’d definitely do it all over again.

Where did you end up ordering it from, and how much did it end up being in CDN? The only local dealer I can find is about $600 CAD taxes in.

I got it from amazon, seller was neotuned. After Taxes+shipping+CBSA tax it was around 700 or so. They shipped it out pretty quick, I got it in 5days. The box was in bad shape but nothing inside was damage and everything was in place.

I think Id do a washer mod over something of inferior quality like the Rev9.
A quality CBE cost almost double, or even more than the Rev9, but youll save yourself the headache of the 'unknowns'... will it fit? Will it rust quickly? Will it drone? What can I replace it with because it $uck$? Save up a little more and get something with proven quality.
