Do you know what you are getting into? The right side takes about 1 1/2hrs. Start to finish. The left takes about 6+ hrs, depending on your pain threshold, mental fitness, alcohol consumption, and if the neighbors call the cops on you for cussing in public.

What I am getting into? hmmm....a little background on me:
While I haven't felt the need to re-certify I was an L1 Master Certified Tech, been wrenching professorially since 1995 (other than a 4-year stint I spent serving my country and another 3 year spell I used to get my BA in History), and currently a shop foreman at an independent out in VA. Some other personal exploits entail a pretty extensive set of mods to my old 98 cobra (Complete GR40 suspension install, Supercharger install at one point, NA 11:1 F/S engine build, setting up a dual runner intake on it, and tunning said mill) and I've also worked on everything from Honda Civics to Bentley Conti GTs to include a power plant pull on an RS6. So, yeah. I think I know what I am getting into. That being said, I would like to know if the Motordyne require modifications to the coolant system on my 15, as the FI setup does. Lastly, thank you for your concern and for the heads up that it might be a slight PIA. I wasn't expecting it to be a walk in the park. |

Good for you.
![]() I don't know about Motordyne LTH's. My background. Used to be ASE Cert Master Tech too. Cert welder. Degrees in crimmeral justice, welding engineering, and mechanical engineering. Built, maintain, and ran a natural gas fired combine cycle power plant. Retired from there as a CRO. ![]()

The SAS is on the rack itself? We've done a few Gs and a murano just the other day (racks) and they weren't set up this way. Don't work on too many Zs, but I don't recall that being the setup and is kind of something I haven't seen yet on any make. Normally the SAS is on the column somewhere. Anyhow, thank for the heads up on that. The SAS is something that we end up recalibrating quite a bit on various makes (sometimes our screwup and sometimes from other shops), but what I really stress to my guys is the Clock Spring. I always make sure they lock the steering wheel with the seat belt, as if that wheel moves too much (e.g. a complete turn)then you can stress that guy and give yourself fits with Supplemental Restraint System issues. Again, thank you for the tip on the rack and i'll be sure to take a closer look at it. Also, if I can get that job done in under 5 hours, i'll be ecstatic. I was thinking anywhere from 4-6 hours just off cursory glances. Good thing is I garage this guy and don't drive her in the rain. Absolutely hate how much Nissans rust. Especially the exhaust. |

As far as any modification, I didn't do the install myself, but my mechanic didn't mention any modifications he has done, only thing was the pre cat sensor which was welded to oem manifold. So, I had to buy new sensors. Also, you will need either a 20 guage wires to extend the pre cat sensor wires or an extension link, as motordyne will not provide them.

Just went and checked on FI's site and it looks like the mod is for 12+ models as something changed with the coolant crossover pipe that doesn't allow the driver's side header to bolt up.

Thank you for the heads up on the wiring i'll make sure to have something ready before I start if I go with the Motordynes. |
