I installed the plenum and lost 7whp. I assumed this was because I need a tune so I went ahead and installed the manifold as well. I went to Rob at topspeed Motorsports and had him tune the car. I was down by about 17whp when I got to him. After he tuned the car with ecutek I gained 15whp with the tune. So I was still under my original number so we swapped back the stock plenum. I reset the ecu and did two Dyno runs at operating temperature. Then we changed the plenum, we didn't even take the car off the Dyno. Brought the car back up to operating temperature and did two more runs. I gained 5whp going back to stock but haven't tuned it since. I'm going to swap back the stock lower manifold next and see what happens.

I never ordered the lower because my tuner said it was a waste. I ended up making 334/267 with gen 3, FI CBE, FI test pipes, Upper plenum. Highest 370z on their dyno is 341.

No I haven't had a chance to work on the car. It's been mine and my little brothers birthday so it was a bit of a celebration this weekend. The Z1 lower is still on with a stock plenum. I have a friend who is about to sell his older Z1 plenum, so I'm going to barrow his and swap it on and see what happens. If I make more power with it then we have an isolated incident with my current plenum. If I lose power again it will call into question if any of the plenums make power. I'm also hoping to change out the lower manifold but after holding a stock one in my hand and the one from Z1 in my hands I doubt there is much of a difference.

Here's my dyno sheet from Z1.

314 whp and 260 wtq.

They seemed pretty happy about the numbers partially since the guy before me had an M6 G37 with similar mods and put down 306. The torque numbers make me a little sad, but again, I'm coming from LS1 land where the numbers are usually pretty similar. Mods are in the sig. I don't have any before numbers to compare to, I'm sorry. Time and circumstances did not permit me to get a before run.

Same here. I have everything except for the upper plenum and lower manifold but don't want to encounter the same issues Mysilverz did...

Wonder if he's made any progress in diagnosing why he was losing power (hint, hint)

I got your hint. I honestly think it's the part. So I still have the ported Z1 lower manifold on. I have a friend in Birmingham who was selling his Z1 ported upper plenum. So for the hell of it we swapped from the stock one I'm running now to his Z1 plenum. It gained 2whp. The procedure was the same. We reset the ecu and did two runs with the Z1 ported lower and the stock upper plenum. The car made 303whp. Then we swapped to the ported Z1 upper, reset the ecu, let the car warm up to normal operational temperature and did two more runs. Final number was 305whp. So read into that what you want. I'm speaking with someone at Z1 now. As soon as I swap back to the OEM lower manifold I'm going to do another run and ask for a refund in some way from Z1. I can't seem to get back to my previous numbers since I put their parts on.

Honestly this has all been so frustrating that it's stopped me from doing any new mods to my car. I don't really want to invest more money in the car till I get back to atleast 310whp. I'm going to start saving for a turbo kit and when I have the money to buy the kit I'm going to also look at the Q60 and hopefully the new Z. I'm just not happy with everything I've gone through with this. At $60 a pop I've done three Dyno pulls not including the tune. I've lost a lot of money on these parts. Also I'm very frustrated to see a car at z1 with my setup making 30-40 more than my car when I was already at 317whp before I put their parts on. I'm making the same power right now as I was with an intake and CBE. Car runs great too. I've just lost a good bit of power. That's my rant for now.
