Yeah isn't that a shame that they couldn't even get that right while designing them..

(After I saw the flange smaller than the gasket then that's the only thing I would like to point out to VSR to improve besides strengthen it up.)

I dont think they designed them to begin with. I will have to dig through old photos but I am about 95% sure they are copies of the old HKS manifolds only with that strange proprietary 4 bolt wastegate flange added. If that is the case, it would possibly explain why they wouldnt fit very well without the same little turbos HKS was using in their now long discontinued "turbo starter kit" they were selling for 350z/G35. It was a bare turbo/manifold kit and the buyer had to fab up IC and piping. Really an awesome idea because so many people would love to build their own kit, but manifolds on this engine layout is just too hard for most fabricators and DIYers. But it didnt take off.

Ah yes, here we are.

GT Motorsports: G37S VVEL Twin Turbo, 4.5L Stroker, MoTeC, SEMA '07 Project Car - MY350Z.COM Forums

For a brief moment, GTM was marketing this GTM/HKS turbo kit that was based on the HKS turbo starter kit I spoke of. They didnt market this much long at all before they had their own manifolds for their own GTM kit.

Judge for yourself, but looks the same to me. Anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but based on what I am seeing, I am pretty sure that the only parts they engineered in their turbo systems were the intercooler pipes and wastegate pipes.

You can judge better than I, I dont have a set of those manifolds in my hands right now to compare to the detailed photos in that thread.

But if that is the case, it probably sheds a lot of light on the issue with their new manifolds. This is not the easiest car to be learning new things on.

Sad thing is....this was only the first thing this company his ripped off....research is priceless.

IMHO, don't wait for the v3/modified MHI/scrapped MHI/failed MHI/made in godknowswhere headers if you are looking to keep the GTM kit(v1 or whatever). You would likely need to fab downpipe/ic piping for a start, god knows what else.

Luckily VSR is taking these on for you guys, but it will take Bobby and team a miracle to perfect these, I wouldnt put it past them!

It's pretty easy to see why HKS could not give a damn if someone stole their manifold design....that **** is ugly. If I was in market, I would have gone greddy all day, but that's just me.

Still rooting for ya cosmo, wherever you go with your build, go large! Thanks for progress on your build, been an interesting read on my vacation!

Hey thanks faceglide, I know I have mentioned this before and going to mention it again but I honestly think I'm going to sell my gtm stage II Twin Turbo kit and go with another. I even have a set of their 3" downpipes to go with it but I really need a set of stock exhaust manifolds... I know some of you may or may not have your laying around. The thing is I've been talking to other turbo manufactures and looking for a deal since I do have a built motor to see what some of these kits can really do. No decisions have been made yet but whatever it will be it's going to be pretty awesome... My used gtm TT kit will be put of the forum very soon at a great price since it only has 3k miles on it and it will be sold with the fixed exhaust manifolds or new fabricated ones...

Are you just selling to get the bad taste out of your mouth? Most of the critical components aren't made by GTM. Once you get the manifolds fixed and redo the water lines, you've fixed the issues with the kit. I don't see there being a dramatic difference in performance at the end of the day, but you'd be out thousands of dollars at minimum.

Chuck your right I don't think their would be a huge difference in performance but no one has any viable options on the table regarding the waters lines too... This lack of boost in my life is Killing me!!!! !@#$%^&*()

Talking to the guy who built my car, rerouting the water lines isn't going to be as useful as we think since the majority of the flow is still going to follow the path of least resistance and go through the heater lines. He's working on a pump setup for mine that would just increase flow through the existing water lines. It should be easy enough to add on after you're done if it works for me.

Well you have my attention so please keep me updated. I'm hoping to have my built motor back in the next few weeks but have no idea on how long it will take vsr to fix or fab those manifolds..

Will do. It's a "before summer" project since we've both got a lot of projects on our plates. He figures if you just wire a pump in line before the turbos our problem will be gone. We'll see. Pumps and wire is cheap, so I'll definitely give it a shot before I start replumbing everything.

Are you reffering to a sureflow pump and if so since the pump is pre-turbo the heat shouldn't be an issue going through the pump. Also do you think it would affect the thermostat ?
