Obviously this is not a Ponzi scheme. What we do see is classic small business cash flow issues. Sam is the backbone of the business and his health incident may have been a terrific blow to the company. 1 in 4 small business owners don't have any health insurance in this country, so that question comes to mind also.

If cash flow was not an issue, GTM would be responding to all this bad publicity by speeding up refunds. Their slow action only creates more doubt. Not in your mind of course because you have a vested interest in it not being true.

From what I have read GTM have always been slow in both communication and action. This goes back for years and I don't think that it is really news to anyone here. I haven't dealt with them myself previously but the quality of their products seems to have always made up for thier failings in other areas.

If you want to read into the current situation that GTM have cash flow issues then thats fine, I have thought of that myself in the past. What I would would personally never do, is make comments insinuating such a thing without anything more than vague guesswork to support my hypothosis. Especially when I have no involvement with the company and others do. I would definitely never make such comments in a discussion about a product that I have no personal interest in and that others have resonably large amounts of money invested in. That would (in my opinion) be a very low thing to do, due to its sole visable purpose of attempting to create histeria, fear, doubt and panic in others.

I liken it to someone that you have just met tellng you that they have a headache and then going around telling that persons family and friends that you think that its probably brain cancer. Based on the evidence at hand you could end up being correct but its still a prick of a thing to actually do......

I still have an interest in seeing GTM succeed. I still want my CARB certified supercharger from them. I would take no pleasure in seeing them fail. That said, some people need to open their eyes a little. Something is not right here.

I hope you are right. It is NOT fair for GTM to eliminate anyone the group buy without letting them know. So far, we heard nothing from GTM announcing anything like that in this forum. Am I correct ? Please..

Nothing indicating that. It's all just rumours at the moment.

I hope Sam and GTM can pull through this fragile situation because like I mentioned earlier, they are the only one so far in the market that can provide such a turbo kit that is as close to factory made as possible. So, think positive and hope we can support them through this nightmare and by the end we'll all be benefited.

Let's not go crazy here. They make a good kit, but things will always have to be massaged to fit. Aftermarket parts will never fit as well as factory.

GTM is offering what looks to be a good kit at a good price and I think despite all of our current frustration we are for the most part all excited to see what it can do when it becomes a reality, can we leave it at that and not have this thread derail yet again?

We don't agree often, but you hit the nail on the head here.

Good to see that the entire point of my post was completely missed......

I hope that I am never on a plane with either of you guys. If there was a noise that sounded slightly off you two would probably scream "we're all gonna die!!!". Instead of doing the clever thing which would be to ask a flight attendant if everything was ok. But hey, at least screaming "we're all gonna die" lets everyone on the plane who has already heard the same noise know that there may possibly be a problem, right....

elperuano 01-24-2014 05:14 PM

Point of perspective.
All the passengers here have been asking the flight attendant wtf is that noise and getting completely ignored. You're gonna sit there and get ignored til the crash?
There are 2 types of passengers. The ones who did nothing and crashed into the towers and the passengers who fought back and crashed and saved hundreds of lives.
I know what type of passenger u are now and I can assure u I'd never wanna fly on the same plane as you.

The nice thing about a plane is the flight attendant is readily available to ask that question. Maybe Sam is more like a pilot. They are easy enough to get ahold of while boarding, but when you need straight answers in an emergency during flight, they aren't available. Or they come on the intercom and tell you everything is ok while you are dropping 500 feet per second.

Any more poor analogies in your tool belt?

Chuck33079 01-24-2014 05:22 PM

Isn't it more like asking the gate attendant where the plane is since your flight was supposed to leave twelve hours ago and there's still no plane in sight?

Dzel 01-24-2014 06:00 PM

Lol how long would you wait in the airport? I know it wouldn't be close to a year! Lmao

WTF are you talking about?
I have never once been ignored by GTM. Every single time that there has been an "inflight emergency" I have called, spoken with either Mike or Sam and found out what is going on and that the "noise" I heard was simply the sound of kits being built or brain surgury being done. You guys seem to think that because they don't post on here much, that they are also not answering calls and not opening the doors of their shop.

Elperuano: are you seriously making a 911 comparison? Too easy.......

Right now, GTM are flying their plane along nicely. There was a delay due to some bad weather and medical issues but the autopilot light is still blinking nicely. The passangers who have paid for their tickets are strapped in tightly, watching a movie, snacking on peanuts and waiting to eventually land. Some of them are frustrated at the delay becuase noone likes long flights but that unfortunately is the nature of air travel.

Some other people have now suddenly boarded the plane mid flight, screaming "Jihad, Jihad!!! Alah akbah!!! This plane is going to crash and everyone on it is going to die!!! The pilot is asleep at the controls and we have a "cash flow" bomb strapped to our chests! If you want to live you had better jump out of the plane now!!!!!"

You are 100% correct about which type of passanger I am. I am the one who will fight back against the uninvited terrorists who didn't even buy a ticket for the flight that I am on. I will tell the women and children on the plane that there is nothing to worry about because causing panic is the least useful thing to do in this type of situation. Unless someone shows me that the pilot has a bullet in the back of his head, then I will continue to have faith in his skills due to his many many hours of flight time. After throwing the terrorists out the window, i will go and check on the pilot (via telephone if need be). If he says that everything is under control, then I will believe him because...well.....he is a pilot, he knows how to fly and I don't.

The terrorists who boarded midflight thought that they were doing the right thing for their people. They believed that causing a panic and scaring everyone on the plane would somehow help the overall situation.......

Have a long hard think about the situation.......if you can show me a dead pilot, then I will take notice. If you just scream "Alah Ahkbar!!!" all day long, i will ignore you.

MMC RACING - Do you know why the pilot tells you that there is nothing wrong even when there is? Because causing panic midflight and encouraging people to jump out the window does not help the situation one single bit! Especially if there are not enough parashoots to go around......

I know that I am wasting my time again but you guys really need to wake up and realise what you are doing and the further issues that it may cause.

Jesus, dude. Sam and Mike are big boys. They can clean up their own mess. You don't have to keep playing Captain Save-A-Ho every time someone posts something they you don't agree with. The plane analogy was retarded when you first brought it up, and just keeps getting worse.

When all else fails....resort to insults. I've seen that a few times in this thread.

Its funny that you say "Sam and Mike are big boys. They can clean up their own mess". I totally agree. People need to stop taking a dump in their front yard because it only makes the mess worse and not better.

Nothing's failed at all. I was just pointing out that you're being just as unreasonable as everybody else in this thread, you're just on the other side of the issue. We get it. You're ok with waiting. You're in the minority. You can stop defending GTM. And the holier-than-thou tone you put in your posts when you address people who, quite reasonably, are upset about the delays and communication issues gets old fast.

Eclipz 01-24-2014 07:06 PM

These plane analogies......

Hopefully you guys get your kits soon. The enjoyment will be worth it.

Damn. For what it's worth, I'm glad I joined this forum. Great way to kill some time at work. Thanks guys for the entertainment and good times. I don't think there's enough popcorn to go around in this thread.

MMC Racing 01-24-2014 09:14 PM

Question: A plane is 120 miles north and 85 miles east of an airport. If the
pilot wants to fly directly to the airport, what bearing should be
taken?

Answer: Draw a right-angled triangle ABC with A the airport. B is due
north of A and AB = 120 miles. C is due east of B and BC = 85 miles.
We wish to calculate angle BAC. With this as our reference angle, AB
is the 'adjacent' side and BC is the 'opposite' side. Then we use the
trig. ratio 'tan' to write down the equation

tan(BAC) = opposite/adjacent

= BC/AB = 85/120 = 0.708333

To find the angle whose 'tan' is 0.708333 we use the INVERSE tan
function, and this gives angle(BAC) = 35.31 degrees

This is the direction going from the airport to the aircraft.
However, we want the direction from the aircraft to the airport. This
is the reciprocal of 35.31, and is found by adding 180 degrees, so the
direction from aircraft to airport is 35.31 + 180 = 215.31 degrees.

This is definitive proof that GTM should update this thread more regularly.

You guys need to ask where this parts are being made. China? Who knows. I've seen first hand now with several cases of the bad quality. Cracked manifolds. Manifold flanges broke cause of threads where not complete.

1slow370 01-25-2014 01:54 AM

On the note of the quality of this kit, anyone notice it now being called the v3 kit? or that since you all have the garret upgrade you are basically getting their new regular kit? I think the budget kit died a long time ago and being that it is the replacement for the old kit, you could reasonable expect the same better performance than what the old kit had depending on what turbo you choose. Look at the other v3 thread all the cars in it are the test cars for the "mhi" kit. Based on that after this group by I would guess that the price is going to go up to around what their current kit is.

Any thoughts?

G37sHKS 01-25-2014 01:58 AM

V3 is for GTX upgrade only as far as I know.

Im looking to upgrade to V3 GTX since I already have GTX turbo kit. Well, depends on the price Im still waiting quotations from both ends GTM and F.I..

As for crack manifolds Im sure GTM is making sure not to have this issue anymore with their new manifold to stay in competition with other vendors.

1slow370 01-25-2014 11:05 PM

talked to gtm, it seems the v3 is the new kit and if the new gtx turbos require the t25+ housing then that is an upgrade to another set of new manifolds so there are the new v3 manifolds and then there is the new v3 t25+ manifolds. Sam wasn't in so may still want to check on that. Oh and the price will go up after the group buy but they didn't say to what.

MavRick 01-27-2014 09:58 PM

i just want to wish you both good luck. we're all counting on you...

AK370Z 01-28-2014 07:53 AM

I'm closing this thread temporarily so that a. I can clean it (and re-open it) and b. have GTM post a response here. They should be able to open the thread as it's created by them. They SHOULD regularly post replies as needed or questions asked and if they are really that backed up with work, they should say "next update in _ days or we will make an update on ___ " and keep the promise.

I have already asked members who are NOT related to this group buy to stay out of this thread. There's no need for your :twocents: in this thread. This isn't a funny thread in lounge. It's people's hard earned money and their active orders. I hope that GTM gets to deliver 100% to each and every customer here. If you're going to be trolling here, I will personally remove your access from F.I. section. Takes me 6 seconds to do it but you will suffer for months. Please don't make me do it as I do not want to do it. Please do not troll in this thread once it's open again.

Thanks

We have received new casting pieces this week, our pipe bending machine is now 100% operational to bend a complete kit of pipe. We should have more detailed information and delivery dates in the next few weeks.

It has been difficult to manufacture a high quality kit that we believe is going to be the best on the market and have invested a lot of effort to make everything in house to ensure that quality continues. We thank everyone for being patient with us as we grow to bring our products to the next level and have new products coming soon.
