It's like hoping for sex on the first date but end up waiting three dates. Course you'll get it. But you wanted it the first date. Lol. Even though its good you don't want to wait. Not pointing fingers just saying. I've been told some pretty much solid info but that's between GTM and I.

That's funny.

Alstann 08-14-2013 02:14 PM

Look at Spohn being all secretive and special.

We're cool too you know!

Spill the beans. We paid for the kit just like you. What makes you privy to new information and not us?

Mkai0 08-14-2013 03:08 PM

At least give us a hint. For those of us who have paid in full I'm sure we could get more info if we wanted to.

SPOHN 08-14-2013 03:16 PM

Pick up the phone and call. It's all in how you talk to people and when you actually call. I know there working very hard to get it out.

If you have information, why not share it with the rest of us? Why have dozens of people call them up and hassle them when they're trying to get these kits done? I'd rather let them work.

SPOHN 08-14-2013 04:03 PM

Not my job. It was a conversion between us and that's how I leave it. This way there's no misunderstanding or hopes given up for those that can't take it. ;)

SPOHN 08-14-2013 05:25 PM

I didn't mention what I knew. I solidly stated I have my own info. Cause I communicate in a orderly fashion and not all publicly. I'm not a fish in a pond waiting to be fed. I go looking for my food.

Man up

Baer383 08-14-2013 07:01 PM

I know Spohn has a very good idea when the release/ship date is b/c he told me when it would be,he told me only cause I'm not waiting on a kit and he is my bud.:hello:

Mkai0 08-14-2013 10:13 PM

I'll don't feel the need to rush GTM because I know they do good work, but hopefully they can start shipping these kits out within a month.

GrooveStyle 08-15-2013 11:09 AM

Agreed. Any sort of a status update/timeline would be greatly appreciated. I don't necessarily want to call and bug em because I know they're busy and have enough calls as is.

09nismo498 08-18-2013 02:04 PM

as long as its shipped by winter im happy. this is a winter project for me, since i dont drive it in the winter anyways. also gives me more time to buy other goodies in the meantime anyways :)

SPOHN 08-18-2013 02:43 PM

^ there's always one in the bunch. Lol

MX52Z 08-18-2013 02:53 PM

Haha, count me as #2. No way I'm working in a 110-degree garage with 100% humidity and mosquito swarms. Can't wait for winter.

Baer383 08-18-2013 03:22 PM

I didn't even order the kit I'll be number 3 :hello:

Mkai0 08-18-2013 07:46 PM

Awesome, I hope that when GTM sees this they know who to bump to the back of the list, so that others can get their kits sooner . I'm hoping to have this kit and a built engine up and running well before Christmas!:icon17:

I don't know if it's to late but I have been having a heck of a time working out the details of my kit and they are still wroking with me:ugh2:

wagz 08-27-2013 12:05 PM

Can someone please edumacate me on internal and external waste gates and why the price difference between these and turn-key.

Also - am I understanding correctly, that clutch and other temp issues may arise from this kit? For the sake of conversation is it best to replace the clutch prior to this install and get better cooling options with this install. Or can one reasonably install the kit and anticipate these items as long-term (1yr+) maintenance costs.

;-) need to make the right case to the wife.

Some background - I plan on considering this kit for a once or twice a week/daily driving 370z. I do have a beater accord that run the show while the vehicle is out of commission. No plans to track. However, will be doing plenty of spirited driving.

External wastegates are ideal, but are more expensive due to more parts and plumbing. You'll never have to worry about boost creep, and boost control will be rock solid. Internal wastegates will work fine. Most OEMs use internal wastegates. It's just not ideal and you may have boost creep.

You need an oil cooler. Full stop. A radiator is a damn good idea. These turbos are oil and wated cooled, so both fluids are circulating through the center section of the turbo. You're asking the OEM cooling system to handle more heat than it was specced for, and this car already runs hot. Plus you block the radiator with an intercooler, making matters worse. You may be able to get away with the stock clutch for a while, but it will wear out faster than a NA car.

You're better off IMO saving for longer and getting every single supporting mod you may need rather than doing it over time.

This. Or do it in the reverse order mentioned above. Get your clutch in and broken in before the turbo install. Don't buy a turbo kit and then skimp on supporting mods.

Alstann 08-28-2013 10:59 PM

Guess who just got a nice delivery at his front door! :happydance: You guys aren't gonna believe it!

Cause it hasn't happened yet!

SPOHN 08-30-2013 08:13 PM

Who else has a Stillen brake duct kit? It's going to be something else to run the ducts with all the piping for this kit. Grinding work for sure.

Sooooo the rest of us aren't as important? I see how it is.

Dzel 08-31-2013 10:18 AM

Pretty much. But I also know so I am one of the important ones.
