Hey guys,

I have just skimmed through last few pages of the thread and I'm sorry that you guys haven't received an update from GTM. A pm has been sent out by Trips cc'ed to me. I'll be waiting for the reply and update here on the thread. Hopefully they will chime in here soon with an update. But in the mean time, I STRICTLY do NOT want any unwanted two cents :twocents: here by non related people. You have to understand, if you're coming here and just posting your replies to cause drama, you're making it worse for everyone. If you've had a issue with GTM (or Sam) in 2006 with a 350Z kit, please don't come here and bash them. If Mike rushed you over the phone 3 years ago, this is not the place to bash them. One person posts something, then other person posts something else and 10 posts later, thread is completely derailed. Lets keep this thread on topic and specific to ONLY people that are currently on GB or affected by it. Please keep it civil and drama free.

Thank you for you co-operation.

I'm here :hello: . Just a little busy but I'm here. Just because I don't post doesn't mean I don't watch in the background :tiphat:

You need less crap in your sig AK. Does Tire Rack even support the forum anymore lol?

As for the "restocking fee" - it is very unfair that the pople who paid upfront have to suffer the consequences only because their put the money on GTMs table 7 months before. I'm in the group buy but luckily didn't pay them, so they can't charge me with some fake costs. But dividing people in the same group buy for those who have to pay for their Research&Development and for those who don't have to it's obviously unfair.

Not to mention that clients do not have to care about GTMs R&D and sponsors it - they should only care about when they get the final product. Because GTMs offered the TT kit in this group buy - not the R&D of the Kit.

AK I figured you were hiding.

Point taken and I know that was directed towards me but I also Recently bought and had issues with my TT kit for my 370z and my experience does relate to this thread because they gtm did the same to me. Out of respect to the moderators this will be my last post on this thread. Good luck to my fellow forum members still in the group buy. ;)

how can a company charge a restocking fee if there isnt anything to "restock"?

Jayhovah 12-17-2013 10:05 AM

I think there is a little bit more to the restocking fee that you guys aren't totally clear on.. I am also on the layaway plan and part of the layaway agreement states that there is a fee to penalize pulling your deposit out (it also states I need to make up the balance within 1 year). I am assuming those of you who paid in full did not have to sign any kind of agreement and hence will get full refunds.

Because there is a signed agreement with the Layaway plan, GTM has the ability to assess that fee in the case where you pull your deposit. I do not think they are doing anything inherently wrong here.

I do agree that, given the delays and that they are giving others full refunds, that it seems a little lame for them not to waive the fee - but it is their choice. As far as what kind of delay would make this fee completely unreasonable - IMO it would be much longer. The original target date was in the summer and we are only 4-6 months late. With the manufacturing and machine setup they are dealing with that isn't really all that long (again... IMO).

At this time I am staying in the GB, but I am also not at all in the same situation as others as I am not moving back to FL until June/14 and have not even seriously started shopping for my future 370z yet. My only real disappointment is not already seeing a ton of awesome build threads.

How are you in the GB without having paid anything? Not hating, just curious how that can be.

These along with many other parts which have already been paid for by GTM would need to be restocked! Do you not understand that the restocking fee is one way for GTM to protect themselves against people pulling out of the purchase. The delay aside, GTM wrote the fee into the layaway contract to help cover the costs of anyone who pulls out at the last minute.

Not really. We don't know how many people actually paid from MyG37.com.

And we don't know how many people here paid, but didn't feel the need to tell everyone. I wouldn't have. That would be between me and GTM.

slynx 12-17-2013 01:27 PM

When did they start taking payments for the group buy? I haven't checked in here for so long.
